    AKA Honor&Glory.

I've been away from TWC and Total War games in general for the past 4 years after the sale of the site. I recently saw a trailer for Shogun 2 and it reminded me of this place, so I decided to pay a visit.

I just wanted to make a thread to see if anyone wants to ask me any questions regarding those events. You can ask anything. I'll answer honestly as memory permits.

My guess is that most of the people who knew me are probably not here anymore or are just barely active, so this might be pointless, but it's worth a try.

P.S. I don't know if this is the right forum to post this. The site has changed a lot since 4 years ago so I don't know what goes where. Feel free to move.

    Wow, you're back?

Okay, well, the obvious question would be... what the hell where you thinking when you started indiscriminately banning people?

I honestly have no hard feelings over the whole ordeal at this point, it's water under the bridge, but it just boggles my mind.

Besides that, welcome back. It hasn't really changed all that much since you left.

As you can see, no one gives a about any of that anymore. Because it wasn't important to begin with. (Though I was one of those that back in the day was caught up in the "revolution" if you will...oh well. Young and stupid.)

The way people take them srsly on this site with their authorities and such just makes me lolmode

And i have a question. Wtf happened? What did i miss?
You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

I don't think it was indiscriminate. A lot of people were angry obviously and spamming everywhere since it was a revolt afterall. So I just banned them all after I got tired of deleting individual posts.

I don't know if they still have it, but there was TWC wiki or something. My guess is that it's in the history section. It was a long time ago.

Do you regret how things went down? What did ON tell you when they made you admin, that's something I've always wondered.

On a more positive note, what are you doing with yourself now?

Why start a thread about ancient history?

Sure. It was a lot of frustration, anger, and stress for everyone for no reason. We were all very invested in the RPG elements of this site, myself more than anyone probably.

I don't remember specific details. There was Ogre and some other new guy. They didn't tell me anything really. Archer was supposed to become Admin, but the new guy came and told me that Archer had recommended me since he didn't want to do it himself apparently. My intention was never to be admin really.

I just read some of the wiki and they make it all sound really elaborate and mysterious, but it really wasn't.

Ogre just wanted to get rid of the site and make some cash so he could write a book.

Oh I was pretty damn invested in it for a time too. Though by then I was more or less washed out of the whole thing as I'd gotten tired of it, but a few months before... trust me, I get it. We were all younger then, too.

For my part I regret how things went towards the end of your time in staff. I remember a lot of confusion and accusations being thrown around.

Interesting. That whole thing seemed like a pretty lazy move on ON's part as they more or less just thrust the last few days of the site being under their control onto you, since I assume by then Ogre had made up his mind that he wanted nothing more to do with TWC. Even though we were by far the biggest site he had or has.

Pretty lazy on Ogre's part I'd contend. He had very little involvement in terms of work, but was happy to make some dollar at the expense of Besim and Mith while avoiding flak directly himself.

The "revolt" itself was pretty pathetic - mainly spamming, flaming with a lot of people acting like idiots on their period.

I do remember discussing the Curia with various people in ON on several occasions - although I stuck up for its ability to keep members interested, I think it turned into a festering pit of childishness by the time they sold the site. The whole pompous "revolution" stuff people push is merely a cover for the unjustified gross lack of decent civil behaviour on the part of many. All designed to cover up the trolling, flaming and idiocy of the time. It doesn't surprise me you had to dish out a lot of bans H&G.

Is it still like that? I've looked around and it seems like the Curia and ranks aren't as big of a deal as it was back then.

For my part I regret how things went towards the end of your time in staff. I remember a lot of confusion and accusations being thrown around.
It was wrong from the beginning. I didn't really fit in with the staff and curia culture and methods. I think that made me unpopular with a lot people right away.

For example, I found it ridiculous that we would argue for 20 pages about whether or not we should ask some guy to take down a Nazi avatar. I would get tired of it all and just ask him myself, then everyone would get pissed.

You know, I didn't really realize how much the Super Mods wanted me gone, until I saw the threads in the HEX. I remember I was genuinely shocked, because they usually acted really nice to my face.

Haha, Ogre didn't really know what was going on. I can only imagine being in his shoes. He must have thought we were all crazy.

    Great, good luck then!

I remember you. That revolution thingie was quite an event. I had senior TWC figures calling me things like ''tard'' for telling people to ''calm down, it's just a forum''.

The old days sound fun .

Why the need for a rebellion?

Some high-ranker called me a ''tard'', so I called him a c-word; for a couple of days mods were just deleting all the abuse thrown around without issuing infractions. It was too tiring for them I think, because the entire site exploded over nothing, alts were popping up everywhere, the ToS basically disappeared.

    It was weird.
