Going crazy here, need help installing stainless steel 6.3 and 6.4

I must have reinstalled this mod like 5 times now, trying every which way I can think of to install it. Every time I try to run the damn mod, I get the medieval 2 title screen and then CTD with a blank error message with an exclamation point icon.

I have the steam version of kingdoms and I need to know:

1. Exactly where to install SS 6.3
2. Exactly where to install SS 6.4
3. How to get the game to launch properly after install

ok: first downloads are found here: download the 6.3 version (i recommend parts as thats what i used so i can vouch for those, but your choice). then download the 6.4 version...all mine are still active and good i know and i think the rest should be too. Ok, now take all the 6.3 downloads (part(s) 1-4 and ss6.3.exe) and combine them into ONE folder on your desktop. Leave 6.4

Now...i'm giving you this cause it's the guaranteed way to fix whatever the error is w/o more info (as opposed to finding the actual error and problem).

0. Make sure UAC is OFF.
1. Uninstall MTW2 and Kingdoms.
2. Restart your Computer.
3. Install MTW2 to somewhere on your main drive (usually C drive but NOT in program files. So like C:/games
4. Install Kingdoms to your MTW2 game. (this includes patch 1.4 already)
5. Optional but recommended cause its short and doesn't hurt: install patch 1.5 (downloads found here:http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=96588)
6. Now your ready for SS, yay!
7. Open your 6.3 download folder on your desktop and run ss6.3.exe (follow the directions, and point the installer to your C:/games or whatever install of MTW2).
8. Now run ss6.4.exe from your desktop. Point it at the ss6.3 mod folder found here: C:\Games\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3 and follow the installer.
9. Enjoy a wonderful mod!
10. Get addicted

only thing i might change because of steam is after installing 6.3 rename one of the original kingdom campaigns (like americas) to americas.original. and then rename ss6.3 to americas. Then install 6.4 to the renamed folder and launch the original m2tw launcher and on the drop down menu select the americas (renamed ss6.3/6.4) campaign should load.

So do i need to install all of the 4 KINGDOMS then patch to 1.5 as im using Gold?

Or do i just install SS 6.3 right on top of M2TW instead?

Im not sure if Kingdoms is required or not? If so how?

i have a problem during installation ss 6.3 does it work on xp sp2? "configuration is incorrect" i have kingdoms 1.5 and i cannot finish instalation of ss 6.3

anyone had same issue?

yes it works on service pack 2 for xp, no but sounds like your may of gotten the wrong patch, does kingdoms load correctly and play? And you downloaded which version of the install packets?
