    Default Teutonic Order composition

Hi there, well I'm currently working on the TO roster to improve it for SS. I know a good base about them but I would like that you people provides me with as much information as possible for army composition, weaponry and units that should be included/removed based on historical accuracy. And also, I was wondering if you guys are interested that I'll bring back the vanilla skins of the Teutonic crusade for the unit roster? I personally find the current unit skins not quite interesting, their faces is just...well you know what I mean. And the teutonic crusade mini-mod for skin is not also interesting to me so please share your thoughts

As you can see by the weapons in the pictures. They had more weapons then just swords.

I am not familiar with the vanilla skins. How do they look? I gotta say the main complaint I have for the TO is the faces, their armor isnt that bad.

Hmm..maces, swords, axes, spears, hammers. That's pretty much their weapons. Now I need to distinguish the units carefully. What about their auxillaries?

Rusichi and Teutonic Crusade and BftB have done this, is it really necessary?

It's not really the unit model I need but more historical info. I only change the primary Order's members, the rest of the roster is good but for example the Halbbrudern fighting with an halberd is totally inaccurate and they are available more later than the ritterbrudern. This is what I would change. Give accurate weapons is my top priority.

Hmm..What I was thinking for the TO units is this:
Ritterbrudern:I'll give a mace as weapon and taking back the vanilla skin for them.
Halbbrudern:I'll give an axe as weapon, available much more earlier and using the vanilla teutonic Knights unit model.
Diendebrudern: The teutonic sergeants, I'll give them a sword as weapon. Using the skin of the templar sergeants but using the black texture of the TO.

Also part of the TO were the 1) Mitbrudern-- they consisted of nobles that held land granted by the Order and usually were of German birth, some, however, were polish.
2)The order also used a light horse archer unit comprised of Livonian Brothers
    3) The TO infantry had two groups A) militia and B) heavy invantry that used spears led by Bretheren Officers
Dont forget about the 4)German colonist that the Order used to settle conquered territory, the 5)Transylvanian Saxons or the 6)Lithuanian and Prussian vassal troops the TO used...Hope this helps, also if you need any history info just let me know, its my career

BG, I not understand why to change something it works. Teutons like byzantines are one of the factions perfect polished. I will never understand why we not follow a simple rule, keep the good, change the bad.

It would be nice to see some model changes to them as well if anyone is fluent in unit modding and willing.

Let see, If I give a mace to the ritterbruder, keep the same unit model and I'll give a sword to the Halbbruder, keep the same model but giving a helmet, will it be better then?

Here's a try out for halbbruder, imo, it's now much more better.(it was funny, there was the helmet textures inside the texture of the halbbruder)

The skins that are in SS now are 1000000000x better than the vanilla skins.

Just for the record: The plural of "Bruder" is "Brüder" not "Brudern" or "Bruders" - so it is "Ritterbrüder" in German.

I haven't played against the TO in 6.3 or 6.4 but as far as I know they still wear helmets with crests (or what the horns etc. on top of them are called ...). I'm not totally sure but they weren't used in battle but only in tournaments and for representation. So if you are going to rework the skins and models it would be nice of you could have a look at them

    Check your local library.

Also, I may be able to dig some info on them, when I finished my university duties, I think I have a book lying around about weapons used in the medieval Hungary, maybe there's something in it. (yes, they've been here, and promptly kicked out when they decided to answer only to the pope, not to the hungarian king)
