Install Question about WinZip

I followed the download instructions posted on the thread but when following the pictures I noticed that when the person who downloaded the files to his desktop folder it was already as a (.cab), whereas mine is in a .zip. Im not the greatest with computer so I really have no idea why there is a difference, once I get past that I know how to install the mod into the correct area and for it to work, Ive just never experienced this before. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What files exactly do you have?
You should have
RS2.msi - 2,373Kb
RS21.cab - 500Mb
RS22.cab - 500Mb
RS23.cab - 500Mb
RS24.cab - 121.472Mb
RSII_setup.exe - 245Kb

Yessir, I downloaded them all off the "sticky" thread yesterday, but instead of being RS21.cab, its RS21.zip for some reason and that is what I don't understand. I unzipped RS21.cab and that just created a giant mess in the folder and it wouldn't allow the actual install. The RS2.msi and the RSII_setup.exe files are in the correct state.

Maybe try to download them from somewhere else?
It seems strange that it would change the file format when downloading though, I don't know what might have happened.

Ya I thought about doing that, the files are just so big I wanted to make sure if there was an explanation for it or not with my computer doing it itself lol. I tried from FileFront I think it was last time so Ill definitely try a different link, this mod looks too impressive to give up on.

I downloaded the RS21.cab file but as soon as I click the download link my computer asks me if I want to save or open the file, when I save it my computer it comes out as a .zip file. I have options as to what program I want to open the file with, but I don't know which program will save it as a .cab.

I am beyond stuck right now.

Um, I have no problem with Filefront (gamefront now...), Strategy Informer (good speed there), Megaupload is down, as well as deposit file.
What browser are you using? You might want to try another (I use chrome, and it works).
Also, what is your OS?

Im using Firefox, but I ended up just downloading the torrent from the link provided last night and ran the install and it worked perfectly fine for some reason. I must have mind screwed myself or something.
