Will they let us pre-load
I suspect Its Demo might be as big as other games.
Brilliant news!
I am on fire, but an extinguisher is not required.
I take back what I've said about the general uselessness of Total War demos for making buying decisions, this one has a bit of campaign map stuff.
Hopefully, we can get a sense of the quality of the AI.
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Now there's nowhere left to stand.
Great news!
I'm looking forward to that!
Thank you, CA & Tw-zone!

In faecorum semper, solum profundum variat.
really pumped about this DEMO... we will have so much more of a test variety. for instance, even if we have only a few moves on the map... we can divide our armies and move one unit out at a time to face the one battle that we will probably get... this will result in some variety.
previous demos lacked any variety and lasted me one... maybe two days. this we can test soooo much!
also... im hope'n we have some volunteers willing to do some FPS testing with their GPU's so we can make some type of chart (that's saying that the options menu wont have several things grayed out).
And people thought there wasn't going to be one ...I'm gonna have to wait an additional week to play the demo though because I have two exams and a paper due next week.
wow!!! you are quite the student... however, it is proven that studying straight for more that 1.5 hours is not that good
in fact... one should take a break from studying (even just 15-20mins) every hour to allow the brain to recoupe.
unless you need those few minutes wacking it... try some Demo time
I think Civ V is pretty good.
People seemed to have expected a Civ IV clone. But I think the game is good in it's own right.

Yeah, Civ V is pretty bad. I'd rather play Civ III if I was that desperate.
The Hex combat looks shiny, but then you realize it's garbage when the AI has no idea how to fight rationally (at least they could put up a fight in IV). Everything else was dumbed down and pretty much inferior to past incarnations.

Yeah I keep hoping that someone else will give CA some competition because that is always good but nobody has even come close. Maybe Neocore will get around to making a serious historical strategy game in the future but that is my only hope.
Yes Civ V is terrible. This is coming from a huge fan of Civ -- it was a bitter pill to swallow. And yes, I agree, there is nothing quite like a Total War game.
When all is said and done -- I like ETW. It was poorly executed but playing it now patched and modded you can appreciate its scope and ambition.
I can't say the same about Civ V. It's hard to imagine that game ever succeeding on it's own terms.
Now CA seems to be trying out little bits that are perhaps inspired by Civ such as tech trees and city specialization. Will be interesting to see how that pans out in Shogun2.
First of all your amazing + rep like every post you have is soooo great, I was gone for 3 days get back and see this post YOU ROCK second of all your a girl thats into total war which is cool, thanks for your contributions
