Fantastic! This has totally restored a lot of faith for me!

I am only on my crappy laptop atm, but I will, without a shadow of a doubt, be playing this Feb 22nd just because I bloody well have to

That's a first, isn't it - can't ever remember a campaign demo before. Great news!

    When in deadly danger,
    When beset by doubt,
    Run in little circles,
    Wave your arms and shout.

Don't worry about performance too much. Rome TW, MTW2 and ETW's demos all sucked on my pc and the full games worked perfectly fine. You'll get a rough idea though for sure

Looks like we're not getting a naval battle in the demo though - maybe they swapped that for the campaign map. I know which one I'd rather have though.

so happy for the demo, really doubt i will get 30 fps out of this game on the battle map with my set up (have quad core, 2.7 ghz, and 4gb ram and windows 7 64, but my GFX s only a 9800gt,

the empire demo didn't get over 30fps, this could be worse.

but i dont mind if its doesn;t work out. i haven;t even experience the joys of the grat stainless steel of the third age on medieval total war, so that should do me fine for a few months till i get money to upgrade.

thanks CA for giving me an early chance to check anyway

Similar system to mine apart from the GPU. To be honest, when it comes to this sort of game, 30fps is much more than enough for a smooth experience - even 20fps will do the job. If you're talking something like F1 2010 where the screen is in constant motion, then that's a different story.

Lusted got it to run with huge unit sizes and what I assume playable FPS, since he played some pretty lenghty segments on a dual core and a 8800GTS, so I;m sure a 9800 will be relatively fine.
