    Default CTD on startup - 1.4.4

    I installed the 1.4.4 and english translation yesterday, and today when I went to try it out it got to the loading screen with the hammers and 1.4.4 written there and then crashed, with no error message and I can't seem to find the log.
    I deleted a file in the a subfolder of the 'world' folder as instructed somewhere, but I'm not sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated

    There is a log, you are just looking in the wrong place. Open warhammer.cfg (in your COW directory) with notepad and look for the line that tells you where you log is generated to and look there, or change it to generate one to your COW folder and then try the game again.

    Menu bounce should generate a log, zip it and post it for the community to look at.

    Ideally you should post all CTD and other bugs etc in the correct thread, except the majority of people don't take the time to do that now, not sure of the point of having a system most seem to ignore is... (that's not a dig at you JFlavius I'm just thinking out loud)

    It says it goes to the logs folder in M2TW/s main folder, but for some reason I don't have one.

    Yet. Some CTDs do not generate a log. Given the majority of ppl who have been able to install and having a working version of 1.4.4, this sounds like an installation error. (If it's not a majority, the howls of woe heard in the forum would be tenfold, lol). This mod does not like any mixing of patches with translation. Translation has to be installed last or it causes CTDs (based on my own experience). However, there might be other installation errors involved. Can't determine this based on what you provided.

    Well I tried a reinstall, same result. I can't think of where I could possibly have gone wrong, but for some reason the instructions are really confusing. For instance, I don't even have th BETTER_WATER folder that was mentioned somewhere, and it's just so confusing

    JFlavius - you cfg file probably is set to only report certain types of errors, or even traces. When I get home from work later I'll post my cfg file so you can see what mine says, and mine definitely reports all menu bounce-backs because I use it to debug my expansion mod I'm tinkering with.

    JFlavius - sorry for the delay in my reply to you. Below is what is in my cfg file in regards to log generation:

    [log]
    to = mods/Call_of_Warhammer/warhammer_system.log.txt
    level = * error
    level = * trace
    ;level=*script* trace
    ;level = ai.ltgd trace

    That generates reports for menu bounce-back, and you can see I changed the reporting path.
