Default Seleucid cavalry and elite units

Before you jump on me- I noticed and read the Seleucid elite thread but I think my problems/suggestions vary a bit.

First the cavalry problem: I played with both cataphracts and hetairoi against roman provincial cavalry (the best they can get- don't find the bloody name) and even though the Seleucid units are more expensive I lost because of the Roman cavalry 2 hit points. I find it unrealistic- the best Succesor cavalry (both hetairoi and cataphracts) should wipe the floor with the best Roman cavalry. I know you try to keep the general alive but it's still a problem. Make the Roman general leading a infantry unit?

Second problem: the seleucid elites (Seleucid Thorakitai Argyraspides, Pherasphidai and Hyspapistai) are weaker then the roman regular legionary units (the imperial ones)- might be because of the low numbers but still- it's not quite realistic. A elite unit being defeated by a roman regular army unit? I hardly managed to defeat a antesignani (that's not a late unit and considered light infantry) unit with thorakitai argyraspides on the flat map- head on! At least one of the Seleucid/Succesor elite units should chew the regular legionaries up- I suggest an increase in the number of the unit. They should be able to withstand an elite Praetorian unit, too- not necessarily win but hold the line.
It's not about the size of the dog in the fight, it's about the size of the fight in the dog.

You might check to see what the difficulty level is on your game. Also, try to get as many bonuses for your cavalry as possible, like the quality of their weapons and armor, try to get more experience, try to possition your troops so that you can flank the enemy, try to attack downhill as opposed to up hill. Simple stuff like that can be the difference between a heroic victory and a crushing defeat. Just some ideas.

Does anyone find that Karthages Elite African swordsmen with a 160 men per unit(hugh settings) has an unfair advantage over the successors 120men strong Elite units? Because some of them have similar stats partic the Pherasphidai so they get creamed fighting against a unit 25% larger.
