Biography & Motivation:
As an immediate goal, I want to finish my Master's and go on to post-graduate work, where I'll be pursuing a Ph.D. in History and a J.D. degree (Juris Doctorate). I think I will add a depth of experience in the ancient world (which is always good for conversation) and my background in Philosophy (specialization in Logic) allows me the position of a sort of text Rhetor, and as such I would have a useful function in the governing body.
Insofar as RTW goes, I've been an EB member since 2004, and have been among the mod leadership three months after my addition to the team. I have taken a huge role in research, development, and management of the units and models, as well as managing the team that has built the vast majority of our units.
I feel TWC is my internet home an wish to contribute to its maintenance. Despite not being very active in the past, I now visit daily and contribute heartfully.
Insofar as political orientation (since I'm applying to a governmental role, which is what I assume the Curia is.. since it'd be a mistranslation otherwise), my evolution has been interesting. As a youth, I tended toward a radical anarchist viewpoint, which was refuted and dismissed by contact with several important works and lecturers (not the least of which being Milton Friedman and his son David), though my major influences are that of Dr. Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn, Eugen von Bohm-Bawerk, and Frederic Bastiat. (as well as Etienne de la Boetie, his work was small... but incredibly influential). In all fairness, the 'Black Book of Communism' was also another major reason for steering away from the far left. An ideological position that kills more people than cancer in a particular century probably isn't all that valid.. If one wanted to characterize me as anything, it would be similar to what Dr. Kuehnelt-Leddihn saw himself as: 'a reactionary arch-liberal monarchist'. It makes me fun at nerd parties, trust me
