I just don't have any words to describe how brilliant this is! You've got a talent, definitely.
Edit: I see that you've added only England textures so far. Are you going to make the textures for other factions?

Yes, I will eventually. I plan on finishing up this initial crop of units and then I will go back and work on more faction-specific textures. That can be pretty time-consuming though (some units need textures form 10+ factions!), but I'll get to it eventually. I figure it's best at this point just to get these units out there for everyone to enjoy!
P.S. Just uploaded a new one, Archer Militia!
archer militia gives always ctd to me.do someone succesfuly added him?
opps finally did.its working.
Ok guys, quick question for you.
What would you all like to see next? I can either focus on creating a few more brand new units, or I could take the existing units and start to build a few faction skins for them. I'm thinking maybe 4 or 5 base model skins for a little diversity, with separate shields, helmets, etc. for each faction. What do you think??
Hope that those unitis will be included in the next SS submod pack like CHIP.
Two thing that I would like to work on:
1)I've heard someone that you did new feudal knights, if that's true, I'm really curious to see them
2)The unit models that really need rework imo was the militias, these ones are just magnificient, could you do the militias of later version like the Urban Spear militia in SS?
And I'll personally add these into CHIP as well![]()
1) My old feudal knights were lost a little while ago, but I planned on redoing them anyways. I'll work on them next! Quick question though. Admittedly, I haven't played through a full campaign for a while because I've primarily been working on developing these units, but when do feudal knights become generally available? 1200, 1300?? I want to make sure that I design them correctly. I was planning on making the default version appropriate for the period around 1220-1250, and then then upgraded unit would look like knights around 1300-1330. The main differences would be the level of heraldry displayed on the knights' surcoats, and also the types of shields/helmets used (later knights would have great helms and heater shields, earlier ones would have "pre" great helms and truncated kite shields. What do you guys think of this?
2) I can look into this also. What time period would this fit into. 1300??
Ha ah, I would that you damage my heraldry, love these colors
Cinematic!
bro awesome work
would like to see early era units, kinda the only era i play and i think seeing militias and normal spearmen having unrealistic colors and cloth is kinda bummer, they should have less armor, like u did with the fyrd spearmen.
im trying to say, stick to basic units redo them and yea thats it.
btw question using ss 6.4 without any mod, will it work and if u could help me with instalation =)
P.S. was gona start a french campaign today but wen i saw ur work i said better incorporate this is my ss and then start, so if cu could touch france unit rouster and make magic would be awesome thanks again.
Hi Frenchy, I'm very excited about your work and needles to say it's ubercool.
Personally, I think that you should start with units that are wide-spread and popular, such as knights, bodyguards, militias etc. I think so because, as you've also mentioned, these units can be used sometimes by about 10 factions, so there are certain benefits: 1) you don't have to create a new model for each faction, just need to make the heraldry(which is sometimes only recolouring textures) 2) as all faction have those units, players won't have to choose a certain faction because you've done specific units only for it so far, but can choose any they like. When the most wide-spread units are done, you can continue to work on more unique units.
I dare to ask you to begin with higher tier units(armor upgrades) because they usually stay during the game process longer than first tier units. I've included all the units you've done so far, but after 30 turns I had smiths everywhere, units all got upgraded and so now they are all looking vanilla again![]()
I would love to help you in any way, but I don't have skills in unit making, so I can only inspire you. Here are some pics to do it![]()
Overlord, all you have to do to keep the new textures is to change the upgrade textures for the units that use them, do that in the unit_models.MODELDB.
I know, but in this case the units will have the only one same look no matter which upgrade they have, and this is rather dull![]()
