1.4.4 - Can't play the campaign after translation patch

Hey guys,

I just patched the mod from 1.4.2 to 1.4.4 (through the 1.4.3 also), but since then I can't play the campaign anymore (going back to the menu screen after I select a faction and start the game). Anyone got an idea why? It happened just after I installed the english translation for 1.4.4... Worked fine before (I had the same problem with 1.4.2, was using the 1.4.1 translation 'cause the 1.4.2 one was causing the same problem) I installed it, then I couldn't get it back to work. Here's the log.

Try that.

Try using Grand Admiral Thrawn's translation if the game keeps putting you back to the main menu when starting a campaign.

Druchii22 --> did you copy/paste the descr_strat.txt that is provided with the translation?

This mod would be more popular then SS and Third Age cause it brings more fun. But cause of millions of CTDS many ppl stop playing it. Even iam who is addicted to this wonderful mod stop playing it sinsce 70% of all battles bring a CTd.

Yes, I deleted the "base" folder (I only got the "campaign" one now). And so did I paste the descrt_strat.txt (just checked, it's the same one in the translation file and in the mod folder...).

There's another one? =P That's the one I used. ^^

Oh and the log, if it can help...

Try using galloper's mod (english voices) somehow it fixed it for me (after a couple game restarts).

Also, make sure ur whole MTWII folder has "full access" enable for all authentified users.

Tried it, didn't work...

And yes, it's enabled...

Anyone can tell what's the problem from the log?

Having the same issue...Deleted the base folder, tried both translations under Grandadmiral and the usual post, reinstalls, used the full english/music install, just tried deleting the water folder in the newest important sticky and am about to give everything full access. I'd put up my log if I can figure out how to if that would help

The translation Beregond uploads in his first post and the one I upload in my second post are 100% identical. Since we both work on it but sometimes only one is present on the forum we post the translation in those two posts.


Remember people. In order to play the campaign you must replace the orignal descr_strat.txt with the one provided with our translation. Without it you will always go back to the main menu when trying to start a campaign.

That's really only bout' a buggy map.rwm file, now i don't know why it's buggy, but that's the root of the problem.

The file they are talking about is part of the 1.4.4 English translation old chap.

There is a separate stickied thread on the main page with links, you really can't miss it.

Its all got rather complicated, just uninstalled it all lost my rag with it, Back to Third age for a bit until i have another free week to try and do it again

Same. They really need to clean up the download.

Well everybody installs the descr_strat, it's not the problem, you have to remove one map.rwm file in the campaign/imperial subfolder for it to work, but somehow for me i got the game half in english and half in russian now Oo

Well, that's better, now it goes until the loading screen for a few seconds. Then I got a CTD. Hell yeah. +rep anyway, guess it should have worked...
