RSII environment for XGM
All credit to RSII-team and to Mudvayne for his map_climats.tga which adjusts the mundus magnus map for this environment.
Thanks also to Hannibal Smith whose example for EB made it easier for me.
Included from RSII
- vegetation
- grass
- water(river)
- bridges
- skydome
- light and fog files
Not included from RSII
- stratmap-textures...since I wanted XGM to still have the vanilla feel on the stratmap
Adjusted map_climate.tga
- By Mudvayne
Map.rwm(empty) - to simplify installation
Updated some historical battles
- correct climates
- added Trebia, Trasimene and Carrhae
Instructions: Extract xgm.zip into "/Rome-total War"-directory. Confirm "yes to all".
Donediddelione!
Download: Version 1.5
On-Demand-Extra: Patch
Includes RSII stratmap-textures and RSII sea-textures. Same install-instructions as above
Enjoy!

Re: RSII environment for XGM
Grand work sir
Excuse my ignorance, but each time I download a new version of XGM do I need to re-install this sub-mod as well, or will 1.5 be good to use on future XGM's 5.9.25 etc....

Re: RSII environment for XGM
There are some files that are overwritten...what I can think of now
1. descr_battle_map_lighting_and_fog_control ( I use RSII-values)
2. The map...maps_climate. In world/maps/base-folder.
So these files need to be installed again.
Best option is to download the environment and have a copy saved for future use.

Re: RSII environment for XGM
Hmmmm - buffoon that I am I seem to be having trouble installing 1.5. Downloaded OK (164 MB sound about right?) - extract files to main RTW Directory - check - I am then presented with a message saying that an XGM folder already exists and do I want to replace - I say Yes - what should happen then....because my system just hangs for 5 minutes plus without anything seeming to happen...
Should I have made a copy of the RTW folder or something? I've only used mod-foldered mods in the past but if this is intended to overwrite something in the vanilla files........i don't know........oh to be young again and able to cope with such things
Perchance my Windows 7 PC is continuing it's long campaign to frustrate me in the downloading of RTW mods....

Re: RSII environment for XGM
If you have installed it in the rtw-directory you have done correct(since the XGM folder is in that file). No vanilla files are overwritten. Only files in the XGM-folder.
