Default BI: Error loading mount database

When I was loading up BI, my game crashed and I got an error saying "error loading mount database" I don't know what this means! help!
My mods work fine (including FATW, for BI) and Vanilla works fine. I have a perfectly legal copy, and I have not changed any of BI's files.

Quick question - do you have Nero on that system? If so, have you tried uninstalling it and tried the game again? Good luck!

I have Nero, but not the one you're talking about (unless of course, the one you're talking about is the dvd burning software.)

Besides FATW, what other mods do you have? You`ve used plural in the first post.

That is is exactly what I'm talking about. I found a reference to a similar problem like yours on the .org. The solution - uninstall Nero and try the game again. It sounded like a DRM problem in reality. Give it a try - if it works great if not no harm done.

Try using the Add/Remove Programs feature in your Control Panel. There should be install info for that program somewhere....

Always. The question is how deep into the file structure one can go - either through one's experience or bravado. Screw the Registry and the next step is a format and re-install of Windows. Be careful....

Yeah, and how well and how much you trust Safe Mode.
