I like to make a chariots army, of course ya need foot soldiers and cavalry. Then I would conquer the rebels around me then the Greek land on the Asia Minor area that is to your left. Then head for Rhodes, Then sew for peace. After that see if ya cant beat the Greeks to Crete and take it. By this time your money should start going up. But be warned the Seclude will not be there for too long. The problem is you cant really fight vs. them and win. Why ya ask? Because once you manage to take the area from them to form a small but nice empire you kill your silver wall. No kidding the Egyptians will eat you alive. So ya might want to leave them alone and go for a early victory vs. the Armenians. Other then that watch out for the Parthian Empire too. Well I only hope this may be of some help. Best of luck.

on my pontus game i have gone as far down as alexandria and memphis in the nile valley.
my suggestion to you is conquer the last rebel province then wait for the sele's to attack. i find they often try and blockade a port. then taking all their provinces in turkey should be relativly straight forward as in my experience they had very few armys to attack me. then when turkey was mine the plot's attacked so i took all of their settlements around the edge (side, rhodes and all 3 provinces on the island)
my plan with pontus was to try and conquer one of the greek cities in southern italy, but when my fleet arrived, Rome had already conquered them, so i took syracuse...so now i'm at war with Greece, Carthage, Seleucids and Egypt...serious strain on my limited resources...the sel's en egyptians actually form an alliance now which means more trouble for me...
i have the same money problem with pontus, i'm currently in war with the seleucids and macedon, the sel' are not a threat to me right now so i'm focussing on taking the macs' coast cities, but the money problem makes it really hard to rise up armies quickly, so i'm counting with only five masive armies in strategic points and little armies scattered in all my frontiers so they can weaken any incoming enemy army. My big issue is that i'm ally with the ptolemaics and so far they haven't make a move and neither have I, but i know that they will attack me from their coast-cities in turkey some daym that's my REAL issue, because if i don't act quickly against the macedonians (just to weaken them) then i will be trap between the macs' and the ptol' and that will be real hard.
once i have weaken the macs' i will turn on the ptols' and from there it will be easier, just two frontiers with the seleucids and the macs', then i will wait to build up my economy, then great armies and then the world!!!!!!!!!!!
