Can you use different unit skins on RTR?

can i use my own unit skins on total realism. im running RTR Platinum right now. If i can, can someone tell me how

Well Yes you can but it will need to coincide with the model. So you can't take a vanilla spear-man skin and put it on a slinger unit. At least not without a lot of editing. Are you trying to make your own skins?

i followed the instructions on the readme but when i try to use Spartans in a battle my game shuts down after im done loading. right as the battles about to start

Hopefully one of the unit coders will be along, but that sounds to me like a sprite issue.

The read me was for vanilla model. I think RTR uses different model for Spartan. Can't remember actually. HAven't look into RTR files for a year now I guess.
