Does the 'can_sap' option in descr_sm_factions work? And if so what is it supposed to do? I am guessing it is a relic of RTW which lets factions tunnel and bring down walls, but I couldn't find anything in a search.

it's a leftover from RTW, dont think it's functional anymore

Do you know what it is/was supposed to do? So I can test it properly.
To sap is to tunnel under the walls and either sneak in to sabotage if possble or fill it full of wood, coal, oil, and later gunpowder to burn the wall down.
It was basicly a suicide mission.
Thanks.
You're welcome.
Did they actually have animations and everything in RTW? And how well did it look and work? Is it worth bringing back?
Is there anyway to make elephants able to attack gates? Melee style, not with a cannon.

It's been so long ago, I don't remember how the animations worked in RTW. Sorry, I can't help you on this one.
If it does work there, you maybe able to rob the animations for Medieval2.
I believe you could move the tunnel openings, sap points, in the army deployment. Then your unit would enter the sap point, there was no real animation. You would see a tunnel going towards the wall. Once there the wall would start to lose hit points until it came crashing down. Then your unit would emerge from the original sap point.
Does anyone know if the druid chant and screeching women attribute in the EDU is still functional?
Interesting although Im not quite sure how I could use it. I was thinking of having their 'chant' as a musician unit, horns or whatever that brought fear to enemies and inspired their fellow troops. All I would have to change is the sound effect.
