    Default Baseline Upgrades

Sorry guys it's another one of those threads. Being not that much of a pc nut I need some help.

As a baseline for my new PC i'm currently looking at these 4 components, what I need you to tell me is whether they're compatible or not, if I could get better for the same money, and if i'm pointing in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

makes no sense to buy a old generation i7 with that motherboard when the sandybridge equivalents are about the same price and so much faster.

GTX 480 will consume power like a mofo and it also has issues with heat and noise, so I don't know if it's worth getting. That said, the price on it is really good. As for the rest, well, I'd recommend against an LGA 1366 based system. So for LGA 1155 based systems (Intel Sandy Bridge) or wait until AMD releases their new architecture.

Get a i5 2500K instead of that i7. It's much cheaper and waaayyy faster.

Also dont get a 480GTX, just no. Rather go for an Radeon 6970 or a 570GTX or something.
