Cant really confirm that...its pretty simple when you have understood the basic syntax and with the right docus you have all tools you need...rest is try and error...
what you can not learn is the creativity in which way to use and combine the implemented monitors,events,console commands and conditions in order to achieve what you want...

What I can say for certain is that its pretty satisfying to see that the game does what you want when you want it (within certain limits of course)...so..scripting rules

even after year of triggering, terraining I still did not like it...

That's not really the same as scripting in the Total War engine, although it does work with "if X happens, then Y is triggered".
