When do Princesses become the Agent, and when not?

In other words: what triggers a female character coming of age to be a princess?

And can it be altered?

The female child of a leader becomes a princess once it comes of age. It happens automatically and is hard-coded as far as I know.

I concur.

Usually a general trick used by some players is say a guy next in line of heir has 3-4 daughters and are about to come of age so one can always kill his current heir so that he gets 4 princesses\agents when they come of age from the new heir.

I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure I've seen people edit the "coming of age" age of female heris, and I'v eDEFINATELY seen them alter the retirement age, mostly to eliminate the agent entirely
