When it crashes, does it give an error message?

Maybe you should download a patch for TIC.

iv download both patches and no it doesnt give a error message
do you have -show_err in the command line?
yes i have it on but nvm i uninstalled it dont have any time to play right now sorry for late reply
Allrighty, when you re-download if you get the same issue just let us know![]()
TIC is not known for having issues with its opening battle, which has never crashed whenever I've played the campaign (as a TIC beta tester I fought that battle many, many times). So the problem is likely to be found either with your PC, or with the install itself.
One thing to check is that you have the Unit Shaders box ticked, in the Video Options screen. It is a known issue that our hoplite units can cause errorless CTD's, on entering battles, if that option is not switched on, so make sure that that is not the problem.![]()
Hi, I'm new here and I've had this too. TIC (with both patches installed) ctd'd whenever going to the battlefield map (whether as Carthage or celts). Re-installed with neither patch, then battlefield map for custom battle could be reached but ctd again when 'start deployment' button clicked and ctd again at any attempt to fight a battle during campaign. 'Unit shaders' was ticked. Will try again with -show error switch and report back. RTR platinum and FOE both seem to be working fine on my admittedly crappy old computer (great mods btw). apologies for the rambling, ill-organised nature of this posting, but I was up v. late last night! Thanks.
Umm, try lowering the "grass" and "vegetation" settings, thoose caused CTD's for some GPU's![]()
If it is the Display Settings that is causing problems then I think that the easiest way to resolve the issue is to put every setting on minimum and see if that works. If it does, then start increasing the settings, one at at a time, in single steps, until you establish a threshold that works for you.![]()
