    Was that a 40k reference?

Mine is Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix. They represent a time when Rome had 30 legions (hence the name) and was at its territorial zenith under Trajan.

Hello, my is Legio X Gemina pia Fidelis equestris for historical reason - They fought against Marcomany tribes in my Country and Leg III Gallica because in RS2 they save my ass several times. And of course XIII for Historical characters Titus Pulo and Lucius Vorenus

Legio IX Hispania, the best legion to grace the Roman empire, They beat down Hannibal for me(I made them available earlier....he, he) and repelled the Averni several times whne they invaded me. They also helped me conquer Africa. In real life too they are the best legion, legends I say

Just recently got the mod but I was actually wondering something. I've seen people playing with the early Marian Legions, but they're no where to be seen in custom battles. Were they taken out of custom battles?

I'm pretty new to this mod and just yesterday I found the Legion Composition thread. Afterwards I put together my first legion and with a supply stack send them over to Iberia to crush those Carthaginians. Right now this legion (which I plan to make pretorians later) got I k/d ratio of about 10:1 and caught the Carthaginian king alone in Carthago Nova.
Is it possible to build named legions early in the game or is the Imperial Reform always necessary?

It is possible to recruit named legions early in the game. I am not sure if there is an official "imperial reform" but the following will guide you to get what you want:

Posted by Apple in release thread:

Because each legion has its own particular Area of Recruitment (AOR), is unique to itself, and can only be recruited after the Marian Reforms, people often ask that one question: How/When can I recruit the legions? Rest assured, this is a simple guideline to to facilitate you in recruiting the legions.

    • You initiate the Marian Reforms by building an imperial palace in Akragas (located in Sicily). This allows you to recruit non-named and non-numbered legions.
    • To set the basework for recruiting numbered and named legions, you must build a Supply of Army Rations in the city you wish to recruit from
    • To be able to recruit the Hamata or "Republican" legions, you must build a Roman Fortress in the city you wish to recruit from.
    • To be able to recruit the Segmentata or "Imperial" legions, you must build a Curia Hostilia in the city you wish to recruit from.
    • To be able to recruit early Praetorian legions, you must build the Praetorian Guard Training Ground in Rome.
    • To be able to recruit late Praetorian legions, you must build the Castra Praetoria in Rome.
