Missing Elven Faction Leader?

Thread: Missing Elven Faction Leader?

    Default Missing Elven Faction Leader?

    Starting a new game, 1.4.2 English, and there is no faction leader for Elves...

    He is in the descr_strat.txt file:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    character Finubar, named character, male, leader, age 61, x 26, y 144, label phoenix_king1, portrait phoenix_king, hero_ability Courage_of_Anerion_Ability
    traits Factionleader 1 , GoodCommander 1 , Intelligent 2 , VictorVirtue 3 , PublicFaith 2 , BattleDread 2 , StrategyDread 2 , ReligionStarter 1, elf 1


    So why is he not in-game? Anyone else experience that? I can add other units to his startng coordinates and they appear but not the faction leader bodyguard unit...

    Anyone want to start a new HE game and see if the faction leader is there? Cheers!


    EDIT - so ok I removed the following line from descr_strat.txt and now the faction leader starts with the rest:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    , label phoenix_king1, portrait phoenix_king, hero_ability Courage_of_Anerion_Ability


    I don't know why that did it, but something in that little bit of text is not good. Will keep testing.

    Ok, confirmed. I had same problem. Its the label phoenix_king1 , removing just this will enable him. Checking the label. Have you reported this in main bug thread?

    EDIT: Ah, never mind! Evil_Ewok this is supposed to happen. script removes him and witch king at start of campaign. Probably for epic arrival later.

    Yes I narrowed it down to the label phoenix_king1 too. However, it he is not meant to be there as Isilendil says I'll put it back in.

    phoeniks king never was in old world
