no Kingdoms exe with Kingdoms, only the Americas, Crusadaes etc???

Hi all, I downloaded M2TW and M2TW:Kingdoms from Direct2Drive. M2TW works, as do the various Americas, Crusades etc.. but there is no icon for just Kingdoms and when I open the M2TW folder and click on the Kingdoms icon there it never loads. Any ideas?

Also, I have both versions on CD but I lost my Cd Key for M2TW. I tried putting my CD's in for Kingdoms but it says "you must have M2TW installed" so apparently it doesn't recognize my downloaded version.

So, I have bought both games twice, but can't play Kingdoms. Any ideas?!?

Kingdoms.exe IS NOT a standalone .exe. It has to be tied to one of the four Kingdoms campaigns or a mod based on them.

Hi irishron, thanks for the reply! I am jumping thru all the hoops because I wanted to play SS6.4. So when I click on Start a Campaign, it tells me it doesnt see kindgoms.exe, thats why I went looking for it. I have unistalled everything and reinstalled it, any thoughts?

The kingdoms.exe should be in your main M2 installation folder. Browse through your computer and make sure it is in fact installed. What version of the game do you have BTW? Good luck!

Stainless Steel 6.4 = disable the UAC if Vista or Win 7.

OK, I am on Windows XP. Version is 1.03 Direct2Drive Medieval2TotalWar and Direct2Drive TotalWarKingdoms. Both are installed in my D: drive.

D:\programs\SEGA\Medieval II Total War <-- is main folder. Kingdom.exe is in this folder.
D:\programs\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods <---- is where Americas, Teutonic, SS6.3 are etc....
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods <--- is where the launcher keeps looking.

I downloaded M2TW and Kingdoms to my C: drive at first, until I noticed I had no more disk room so I mved them to D: drive. I had issues so I deleted everything and reinstalled to D:. Is it possible there is a registry entry or something from the first install that keeps telling SS6.3 andTATW to look in the C drive, even tho I installed both to D: drive?

Also, I see a Kingdoms icon, I can play Americas or Teutonic, but clicking on the Kingdoms icon does nothing. I understood from your previous posts that its not a stand alone, but does the fact that I can play Americas mean that I have a working Kingdoms.exe?

It could be. Run a registry cleaner.

I don't know how many downloads D2D allows before making you buy it, again, so be careful.

OK but can you please clarify one thing? I thought Kingdoms was indeed stand alone, in that you didnt have to play Americas, Crusades etc... but that you could play a regular campaign, but with Norway or Kiev, and burning oil etc...?

Medieval2.exe is standalone as intended. Everything was thrown in there like RTW until modfloders showed up.

Kingdoms.exe was not made a standalone but tied to the campaigns and mods based on the campaigns for reasons only CA knows.

Norway and Kiev are in mods on the medieval2.exe. There is a way I believe one medieval2.exe mod has been able to add burning oil but don't quote me.

I prefer Kingdoms mods as they offer more possibilities and many fixes that sould be in Medieval2 ened up in Kingdoms.
