    Default What "difficulty" really means?

    elo lotrions :>.

I'm pretty sure what "campaign difficulty" relates to (though a clarification would be nice) but what about "battle difficulty" ?
Here's direct quote from inside the game: "Select battle diffi, this relates to opponent STRENGTH".
Strenght?...as how strong the units of my opponent? If so then I dont see the point here...you just made my opponent "physically" stronger.
I hope that I'm wrong and battle diffi relates to how smart the AI in battle.

You can hope, but I believe that the AI receives morale 'cheats' and possibly stamina as well as other 'bonuses'. I don't think that the AI fights any more intelligently on any setting.

Then there is no point at choosing "Very Hard" or even "Hard" if all what the AI gets is pure strength and nothing more...
I thought maybe on VH my opponents will strategy almost like human...

The reason for choosing H/VH is to give the AI some chance of winning in an even match. The experienced human player will almost always win a battle if the AI is not given something to help them. AFAIK, no entertainment level AI can best a competant or experienced human player.

hmm....indeed...well I still think its wrong to give the AI strength over "brain".
I would suggest to change it to more sophisticate AI...

I totally agree with you.... but you will have to contact Creative Assembly about that. Most of the higher function AI behavior is hard-coded and thus 'off limits' to modders.

Ive read somewhere that at easy the player gets morale bonus while on hard and vh it is the ai that gets the bonus.I think the ai is more agressive and doesnt do sucide attacks as often as if set on easy.

I'm pretty sure there's no difference in AI behavior between medium and VH battle difficulty. Can't make a statement concerning easy though.

There was and argument about that some time ago. As far as i know there is no substantial behaviour change between M and VH, but many others tried a good amount of trials and noticed more "aggression" for VH's AI: less time between attacks and such. So i believe they are right: the AI is more aggressive toward you in VH mode.

In battle, the AI simply receive huge amount of boni to ALL stats, greatly unbalancing the game and making odd things like militia units stopping elite units... personally i won't go more than H in battles: the AI stays the same.
It's only after you have lost everything, that you are free to do anything.

    I only play VH/VH.

And while i can confirm that the enemy simply gets some increased stats in battle i don`t think that it makes their units too strong.
Hell, basic hammer and anvil tactics will guarantee a victory even against great odds.

I set to Very Hard campaign and Hard battle hoping it will make the game more challenging.
