Colorless uniforms: Need help!

Hi everyone, first post here but I have been loving reading this forum.

Anyways straight into the problem. In my battles all of the units seem to have white coloring to their uniforms. Not just mine but every faction I play and every faction I fight. Doesnt realy effect them game play but it ruins the feel I suppose. Anyways was wondering if this is a bug that is fixable or if there is something wrong with my pc / set up.

I curently run are high / med
PC specs: I7-920 Quad-core
3 GB of DDR3 RAM
ATI 4850 HD card
As far as I know all my drivers are updated and workig fine. The game has always done this to me. Do I need a better graphics card or mroe RAM? Id love to solve this problem before Shogun 2 comes out! Thanks in advance for any help you guys come up with.

(Also as a side note, for Shogun should I get more ram or a new g-card?

It's a known bug. If you tab out of the game and then switch back in, it usually resets the graphics and the uniform colors reappear.

Yes according your ATI system its a known bug.
If the tab out, tab in doesn't work then;

Check your version of your ATI Catalyst driver. Your windows system might have updated it to 10.8 (Windows Update will try to do this in Windows 7 for example). If your driver version is 10.7 or 10.8 (or maybe even 10.6) then you should uninstall your ATI drivers and install version 10.3 (or 10.4 or 10.5) instead.

Oh ok thanks very much, should this bug be fixed before Shogun 2 is comes out?

Also sometimes in battle the game just crashes...same issue?

It only happens with me once I've been playing for 2 hours plus - and yes, tabbing in and out of the game works for me. I run on an ATI Radeon X2300, a graphics card that apparently only works on netbooks, ha!

If u use any mods, ask at the thread of the main mod u use.
If u don't use any mods follow these steps:

go to steam > right click on napoleon: Total War > propperties > local.. > check gamecache.

the crashes are due to a memory leak. the colorless uniform is a bug. both issues have been known since a little time after the game's release and have yet to be fixed.
