Default Why do general's generalbodyguards have stronger stats than family member's generalbodyguard?

    Dear,

I notice that general's units recruited in settlements, regardless of the factions they belong to (whether Catholic or Islamic), all have stronger stats than family member's units, from attack, charge to defense. Why is that? And If I marry a princess to such a general to have him become my family member, do their children have the stronger stats, such of their father's unit, or the weaker ones, such of a family member's unit? Can I ever have a family member's unit with stats as strong as a general's unit?

I believe the recruited ones are the ones for LATE era, so much better armour and defense etc. If you're playing the early campaign, all generals (Family and adopted wise) have lower quality. Should be able to tell by right clicking on the unit cards and comparing pics.... If you don't know how to check a generals pic, just right click on him when he is out of a town and then click on the helmet on the lower left

That, I do know, seeing the description such as "combining gothic armour blah blah blah...", but why is such late-era unit put in early era campaign? And if I play a early era campaign until the year count hits 1250, will all the family members born after that time have their units as strong as that?

No. Unfortunately the game will always select the first listed Bodyguard unit in the EDU for new family members.

I'm not sure about that to be honest, I would think so.... Maybe you have to upgrade their armour? Sorry for lack of info, been playing SS for a very long time, but they keep adding new brilliant stuff every time I'm away lol

Wow, so that means even in 1500s, with all the gunpowder troops and gothic-ranked armour units overwhelming the map, my family member's units are still... weaklings from 11th century? That is SO not realistic, is that? Unbalanced, even?

Well, at least it's the same for all factions
But no, it is very annoying. Little to do about it, unfortunately, just the way the game works.

By "the way the game works", you mean it's hardcoded, yes? Like, there's nothing that can be changed about it?

    "Dear" ?
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

My English exam's coming in 2 weeks, true enough, but... er... no?

So if this feature is hardcoded, at least we can do something like making the family member's unit stronger (regardless of whether it's EARLY or LATE campaign), yes? Like using the general's generalbodyguard unit to replace the family member's generalbodyguard unit?
