Default Ambush armies are not attacking

So I scripted in a bunch of rebel spawn armies in forested parts of my mod map, and gave each character 'GoodAmbusher 4'. The spawns show up on the map but the armies don't attack when I send a unit by or past them. In fact, I can't even move my unit on the grid or attack them. It just says path blocked and the rebel army doesn't show up. Only time I can see them and attack them is when a spy is nearby. I have never scripted an ambushing army before, so do they always act like this? Or is there someway to fix it?

Check the teutonic script; it's used to change the factions' attitudes after lithuania converts, as well as making the AI gang up on the human in late game. It can also be used to change attitude based on scripted parameters:

    monitor_event FactionTurnEnd FactionType england
    and I_FactionLeaderAttribute Chivalry < -4
link_faction_ai england [insert AI parameter here- burn_n_pillage, perhaps?]
    end_monitor
    or
    monitor_event FactionWarDeclared FactionType venice
    and TargetFactionType byzantium
    and I_EventCounter FourthCrusade = 1
    link_faction_ai venice fourth_crusade
    end_monitor
and so on. So, when a chivalrous leader comes to power, his army doesn't sack or exterminate and is generally trustworthy, when specific events (mongol invasion, fall of Constantinople, whatever) occur the AI reacts accordingly, etc etc.
A well informed opinion is a well formed opinion.

Thanks. Incidentally, do you know what the various parameters in descr_campaign_ai_db mean, i.e. invade_immediate? I could use a guide, as I'm using this system in a mod that I'm making.

I know that keeps rebels from attacking (only defending) within their settlements. Could that also "freeze" rebel ambushers?
Well I did some more testing and everything works as it should when I added the armies through descr_strat. So it seems to have to do with just scripting the army in, not the armies themselves.

So, by changing that value, the rebels will start acting like a regular faction, i.e. attacking armies/settlements? What about their AI? I know you can "link_faction_ai" to change their behavior, but what would the parameters be?
