Go to export_descr_unit there you can change it. the underlined bold number is the one that influences the amount of soldiers in a unit

Atleast iff you mean amount of soldiers in a unit, if you mean amount of units in an army then sorry 20 is the hardcoded limit

or if you want extra units above the amount in huge just go into preferences.txt and scroll down to
UNIT_SIZE: 160 ; then change 160(whatever the number is) to how much you want so if you want like 20/30 units extra to each unit change the number to 180 this does mean though that the units which have 240 units will have 40 more men
Rock!?!?!
thx for the help

I think the game is hardcoded to where you can't have more than 20 units under your or the AI's direct control, or else the game will CTD.
their talking about in one legion or one card it will have 180 units in the card of that unit not like all i have also could the best way to hax the game ever i think ill post my descr_mercenaries on this downloads page i have about 40 legion infantry and cavalry and some onagers and a couple things of arcani each with 9 in it so i can recrute about 50 armies just in mercenaries that cost only 1 each combined i can probly buy about 80 full armys of the best of the best soldiers in the year 270 when u cant even buy some of those units but make sure u back ur file up because i tried elephants and it messed it up and so did spartans i think u can onl use ur factions type of units
How do you use that unit editor that you posted? I start it up, but it seems really confusing, and the readme didnt really explain much to me. All I want to do is change all of the troops in each unit to 240 in one single swipe.

just go to c/programfiles/activision/rome total war/preferences(the text document not the folder) scroll down and look for UNIT_SIZE:80 change that to UNIT_SIZE:240 and ur good to go
I was afraid you were going to say go into the perferences.txt and change the unit size to 240. When I do that, it basically just goes back to the max unit size of 160, and still makes units like legionary cohorts stay at 161 men, and not 240. See, I want EVERY unit in the game to have 240 men, not the number they're set at when you select a unit size.

That's going to be a BIG job to do properly.Originally Posted by PROFESSORPAUL
1. You not only need to change the size, you need to adjust the upkeep and recruitment cost for the new size. Otherwise things will be unbalanced. (Multiplier factor from original size to new size.)
2. Siege engines are fixed I believe, so all those extra men will just be milling about.
3. Elephants will be a mess, as will chariots--the unit foot prints will be massive. And there you will have to approach the totals a bit differently I presume.
4. Bodyguard units might not work properly at all or cause some other problems running the game...they get more men based on leader's influence, etc so this might violate some criteria. Plus they already are a very powerful presence.
5. Cavalry will be overpowered relative to others.
6. Wardogs might have to be handled with different limits.
Anyway, set the number of men to 60 in every unit. That will max all of them out. The reason you can't get 240 is that huge is 4x IIRC. Legionary cohorts are "only" 40 men base size, while first cohorts are 60.
