    Default Create Unit Console Command

First off let me say that this mod is amazing. Just out of curiosity I was wondering if the create_unit console command works correctly with the mod. I created a small batch of Light Men at Arms for my Spanish city but they show up as peasants on the army card and when you look at them on a battle screen they have no skin and just show up as shiny silver units. Is there something that needs to be added to my command or is it simply not compatible with the mod? I know using this is frowned upon but I'm addicted to gigantic battles when campaigns end.

It's not the Console Command that's the problem. You just created a unit with the Spanish (León) doesn't have access to. So they don't have the proper files assigned to this unit, and as such, they appear as Silver Surfers.

But I can recruit the unit from certain castles. Is it due to low population?

That's because that particular unit is not meant for the faction you are playing. Check the roster for that faction in the custom battle and see the units that it can have use those units in the command and they will show up fine.
It works same as in vanilla there is nothing different in SS with this aspect.

He did mention he could recruit them though. Perhaps there are several units in the EDU..?

He is doing something wrong maybe it's an AOR unit and it lacks the texture only contains the merc type one from the BMDB.

Light Men at Arms definitely do not show up as available to Leon in custom battle, I can recruit them in my early game with this faction, oh well no big deal. Thanks for the responses.

You need to do create_unit "Light Swordsmen"

    Reason because
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    recruit_pool "Light Swordsmen" 1 0.13 1 0 requires factions { hre, spain, hungary, portugal, } and not event_counter first_watch 1 and hidden_resource poland or hidden_resource hre or hidden_resource spain or hidden_resource milan or hidden_resource venice or hidden_resource papal_states or hidden_resource hungary or hidden_resource portugal

    recruit_pool "Light Men at Arms" 1 0.13 1 0 requires factions { england, france, aragon, } and not event_counter first_watch 1 and hidden_resource england or hidden_resource france or hidden_resource aragon

Just like trying to get Retinue Longbowmen by typing it in, but unit does not exist, so you have to type in Dismounted Longbowmen

That's correct and Spain in the above text means Leon. So for Leon you want to type the name Light Swordsmen just like Rabid said as you can see Light Men at Arms don't have the textures for Leon etc.
In future you can check the real names by opening the export_units.txt file in the data\text folder the ones inside {} curly braces are the real names inside that file.

In the SS6.3\data folder open the export_descr_buildings.xt aka EDB file.
