    Hi guys,

    UPDATE: 2-19-11 FIXED ISSUE

    I posted it onto file sonic for download just copy and paste it over your HE dragon prince texture file in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer\data\unit_models\_units\warhammer\High_elf\model\attachmentsets

    Everything is as it should be now, the HE bodyguards have their shields back and the HE Dragon Princes do too.



    Long time lurker posting my first bug here;


    • Name of your issue: Dragon Princes shields have incorrect difference maps relative to their normal maps resulting in bad textures.
    • What faction, what unit(s)? High Elves Dragon Princes Unit
    • Briefly describe the issue and add comments? Dragon Princes shields have incorrect difference maps relative to their normal maps resulting in bad textures. I did create a work around but didn't have the time to do a completely new Normal map and didn't have the original difference map since I couldn't find the exact same texture for the difference map. It's an easy fix just need to replace with the original correct diff map. I would be willing to do new diff and norm maps for the shields if required.

    Ah yes, I have noticed that too. It makes the shields look like sandpaper. Also, welcome to the forums!

    Thks man! loving this mod, just getting a lot of CTD's though so playing the campaign is a bit tricky atm. The Dragon Princes are such a beautiful unit too but it's such a shame that the shields are messed up so I had to post .

    Oh an update on texture bugs, the Dark Elves Executioners do not upgrade correctly, their texture files include upgraded versions with gold gilded armor but in game they do not upgrade properly and all three upgrades remain with the base texture, I will file a bug when I figure out a work around or whats wrong with the battle_models.modelbd.

    You could try modding it yourself? I personally do not know much in skinning, more of a mapper

    Yeah I'm trying some things right now but I'm having difficulty matching the normal map with any new skins since I don't have the original shield textures. I'd either have to create a new norm map and try it that way or try and copy paste the one dragon shield texture that's still on there and re-size it to fit the normal map settings which would still leave it somewhat odd looking with the other texture on the normal map.

    Overall a big hassle, but if it's not fixed in 1.4.4 then I'll do it and post up my results. I'm downloading and installing 1.4 to see if maybe the file in there is the right one (if so then an easy fix). but if any of you have the correct difference/norm map please post it and I'll convert the files and put it up with instructions later.

    Update, they did fix this in 1.4.4. so the issue is no longer there. Just update!

    Actually now the HE bodyguard shields are messed up and display all black, not sure if it's the same issue will have to check.
