    Default Venice or Genoa?

I love to play those two north italian factions, but at the start of new late era campaign i can never decide which to choose.

What are yours + and - for each other?

    Hungary just kiddin...

If I were you I'd choose Venice because I like red better (yeah cr*ppy opinion I know)
Never played long enough, but Venice looks nicer and I like their roster better
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

I haven't played a campaign as either, but from what I remember Genoa is basically a stripped down version of Venice's roster. You will have better unit growth options as Venice.

Other than that, I think it really comes down to who you want to fight. Genoa usually moves on the French and then into Iberia, sometimes having to deal with the HRE as well. Venice on the other hand clashes with the Romans, Hungary, and the HRE.
I see the better and approve; I follow the worse.

If you liked my post or thought I was helpful, hit that +rep and leave your name so I can keep an eye out for when you deserve some. Unless you suck. Then you aren't getting crap. Ever.

Yeah, but genoa has those cool Famiglia Ducale heavy cavalry plus great ap crossbowmen while Venice has good professional heavy infantry and archers, and those powerful Galleass.

If they just had that good armourd cavalry i would always play as them

I would choose Venice because I feel they are, dare I say, more relevant.
Oh, for Heaven's sake, now you're being deliberately stupid.

Wudang why did you close the thread? Because you can't find a source refuting mine? LoL how's the quest to ban me going?

Besides the start position and color, I think the only difference is that Venice has an extra archer and heavy infantry unit while Genoa gets an extra crossbow and cavalry unit.

Also venice is in a gerat position to crusade against the middle east with their seaports. I think its kind of annoying how land armies can march right up to venice, whereas historically, the navy had a great deal to say about who sieged Vencie and when.
