Game will no run in Steam. No Error message.

Hi, I'm really in need of help here. I have the steam version of the main game and Kingdoms, but I have been unable to open the game since yesterday. Basically, what happens is; I open steam, click on the games icon in the Library and the launcher pops up. I choose a campaign (I've tried all of them) and the laucher closes. A few minutes later the laucher reappears and no matter how many times I try to start the game, it won't. There is never an error message or anything to indicate why the game won't lauch.

So far I've reinstalled the game, uninstalled just Kingdoms and searched high and low for an answer, but have turned nothing up.

I was fiddling about with program files in the steam folder yesterday, but I didn't touch the medieval 2 ones as far as I recall. Also, all my other games are working fine.

Go to www.steampowered.com, anonymously download Steam, then login and try it.

Also check your security/firewall/router permissions. Something nayhave got crossed there, too.

Thanks for you suggestions, but they unfortunately didn't help.

However, I tried again minutes ago and, lo and behold, the game works again. I assume the fault must lie with Steam itself. Anyway, I'm just glad it's working again.

Steam 90% of the time is the problem. One reason I am not a fan of cloud computing.
