Stuttering videos solution

I have scowered these forums and found some vague solutions to the choppy in game videos problem i experience, however, im not very smart with the ins and outs of computers so could some one be willing to explain to me how to solve this problem

In preferences.napoleon_script.txt, have you tried setting the sound channels to 64 or 128 and setting the sound cache to 300mb?

okay I tried that but still the in game video (duel) was choppy. From what i can deduct its a video probelm too as both video and sound stutter and freeze reguarly throughout. I am happy to give you my system specs if you need them

okay thanks i will try that too to see if that works because i only tried sound channels before

no im afraid that it still did not work however i think i should say that it may not be the sound thats the problem as the video is almost going in choppy slow motion so the sound can only be heard in snippets due to the fact the video is going so slowly. Therefore im pretty sure i have a video issue because its the actual footage which is choppy.

Have you manually installed directx 9.0c, C++ 2005 SP1, and .Net 4?

i have checked on dxdiag i have directx10 and im not sure what the other two suggestions are sorry could you tell me where to find out wether i have these or not

The easiest way is to try to install them with the UAC disabled.

If they install, you needed it. It you get a message it's installed, all the better.

You also need to run Windows Update manually and install all software updates including Service Pack 2. Vista is dx11, now, also.

oooorrrrrrr the graphics and settings are to high for his pc to deal with. A common issue among us all lads. try lowering the res and graphics to medium or medium low, if the problem persists, continue to lower

yes that is a possibility but then i have a quite high end pc

no still did not resolve the problem................grrrrrr...................maybe its just an unfixable bug, one other thing might be that its bink thats causing the problem? what do you think?

I tried it all on medium then low

what about like particle effects, shadows, depth of field and all that? those are some of the biggest reasons y some pcs have issues running the game

i only get in game video stutters, if volumetric effects are on.

If i turn them off the stutter goes away.

The main problem is the effects are still being used while the Video plays.
