Sometimes extremely slow during battles

Hi all,

I've tried to search the forum for a solution to my problem but all the related posts aren't exactly about the same problem as mine.

I'm having a strange issue with the battles. At the beginning of the battle, everything runs smoothly. 40 FPS more or less. Even with high numbers of troops.

Sometimes, (not in every battle) all of a sudden, after some minutes, the FPS rate drops to 0.1 FPS. This renders the game totally unplayable. If I pause, I can move around the camera perfectly, but when I unpause, back to the 0.1 FPS.

It also happens where many units are all together in a very enclosed space (such as when 5 spear militia units try to climb up the same siege tower at the same time). But aside from this, this insane lag thing can happen anytime and it's a real pain in the arse.

I don't know if I make myself clear. Excuse the language!!

I don't think the computer is the problem, because the rest of the time it's ok. Perhaps it is a programming or incompatibility issue? It definitely isn't about the graphics card, because the problem doesn't go away with all settings to "very low". Also, I've checked the temperature and fan speed. Both are ok. The computer is quite new, defragmented and with plenty of free space in the HD.

I have a quad core and Win 7. Perhaps M2TW isn't optimized for those?

Any suggestions?
