Default The byzantine empire unit roster

Would it be possible to get the old byzantine unit roster back in 6.4? The one that was used in 6.2 and lower I think, I'm not entirely sure.
I realy liked the old one but to start playing with 6.2 again is not an option. So would it be possible, by swappin some files or something to get that old roster back and still have the nice updates from 6.4?

Its the same roster.. Only the unit pics have changed.

(have you by chance kept the 6.2 files?)

Realy it can't be the same, I used to have lots of different units. I think it changed with 6.3 but again, I'm not sure. The byzantines used to have units like Trebizond archers, byzantine lancers etc.
The whole roster has completely changed and I'm sure I've seen that in a feature list of one of the new Stainless steels, but I just don't like them

Can you post a screenshot of such a new unit?
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

The current roster is historically accurate.

I think I am mixing up the stainless steel versions I think it was 5.0 that had those older units, and I think 6.x changed them.

why would you want to? Those were the basic CA units. CBUR's great roster is used in SS now and it is certainly a major improvement. If you just want easier recruitment, you might try for the Disable RR submod.

I can understand where he's coming from. In most games when there is a major change in the class or roster system, I find myself having to force my way through it at first as I'm stuck with 'The old way, the way I knew, that's superior!'. Especially with a tactical game like this where you find certain units and how they play, or combination's, become very near and dear to your heart.

To the OP though I'd say give the new Roman roster a shot. I find it a far better thing than the vanilla roster, and not only are they some of the nicest skins in the game but they have some of my favorite units...period.

I've been playing with the new roster since the release of 6.3, I just prefer the old roster for the byzantines.

I don't think the CBUR mod had an uninstall option, at least it didn't when I used it the first time with SS 6.1.
If you have an old installation of SS 6.1 (I have one on a laptop), you can maybe use those files as a model to modify the new ones in SS 6.4, but I doubt it would be a practical method.

    What can I say ...
Cassius: "Our men at arms have secured the city. We've received representatives from all the best elements. The senate is with us, the knights are with us."
Brutus:"The pontifs, the urban cohorts, the lictors guild..."
Antony: "Oh, the lictors guild, very good. Only rally the bakers and the flute players and you can put on a festival."

DO NOT ask when a new version will be released because we simply DO NOT know.

I don't really get what people mean when they say the Romans get owned in the late era, Spatharii can kick the crap out of any gothic, norman, dismounted whoever and if they can't daddy general surely will, cannons really don't get much better than the grand bombard anyway, perhaps the mortar has more practical uses such as precise aiming and using it as anti siege, but the grand bombard blows down walls better than a serpentine. Lets face it the serpentine grape shot rarely hits anything worth while unless the enemy stands still. The Mediterranean remains a Roman lake IMO and the former English Channel becomes the Caesar's Strait

Mass heavy cavalry will roll right over them though, and once you make the second version of your own FM's the Roman ones don't seem as scary. The Romans have one of the best defensive rosters in the game, but there comes a point where your offense just outclasses them to an extent that it doesn't matter anymore.

What are FM's? I likely know the full name, but I am not familiar with the acronym, thanks.
