Golden Eagle

I my last BI campaign, I was fighting the Western Empire. After many of my victories I recieved theese messages: that I had captured the golden eagle bla bla.. and it has brough to this settlement bla bla bla and the romans would do everything in their power to get it back. So know I'm thinking... do they actually try to get it back or is it just an empty threat, because I did'nt really notice anything

I know it gives a command star to the person who captured it.

It just gives named generals a trait like "eagle collector", or has captured two eagles. Get up to three command stars doing that. If the AI takes an eagle from you, it will end up in the nearest enemy settlement. The general who reclaims a lost eagle gets points, too. However, the AI is largely too dumb to reclaim eagles with the intent of revenge like it SHOULD.

I see.. and yes it is a shame the the ai dos'nt try to re capture the eagle. It would great if the romans did assemble a huge army and send it towards the settlement, where the standard were being keept

I have actually noticed that the romans are constantly sieging the twon the eagle is at, even after i ceasefire, they attack again. Every turn. I'd say they are determined.

Sounds great. So they will proberly try to get them back if they have the reources an men to do it. In my campaign WRE was pretty much history, that might explain why they did'nt care about the stolen eagles
