    Default AI garrison for forts?

Does anyone know a mod, which has a garrison script for forts, not only for settlements?
As I'm not experienced in scripting could that be difficult?

    Thanks in advance

As far as I know, no.

Yes. More than settlement garrisons. The AI will leave forts unattended, so you would need a script which produces an immovable army for when they decide to abandon it. Then you could start thinking about a garrison script.

The CHIP sub-mod for Stainless steel may feature such a script but as Taiji mentions, getting the AI to stay in the forts is the problem.
Generally they'll walk out on turn1 if you put them in the descr_strat entries (found that out the hard way.)
ordinary units are difficult (Impossible?) to immobilise.
(or you could script replacements - assuming you want to check which faction control each and every fort (the PSF sub-mod for SS6.4 has about 160 and 29 factions.)
One could put a general in there with a trait that removed 200 Movement Points - but again you'd need to check every turn he was still there and replace him if missing.

Seriously I wouldn't bother, just let the AI use them when it suits the AI and accept some won't be garrisoned some of the time.

For me the AI is usually vanquishable in open field battle, but if the castle or the fort hasa proper garrison, than it can slow down an offensive significantly (as it happened usually in the medieval times.) And I have seen, that usually the AI does not use the forts (despite their usefulness).

-Truthfully that does not bother me if the garrisoned troop leaves the fort, because a useful troop in a garrison can be very useless in open field battle. If I manage to make the script, I plan to make it so: every time the player attacks a fort, a garrison troop appears.
-And it shuold work against the player, and a player is (usually) intelligent enough, to attack a fort if only he has a chance.

Thx for the help, I'll look after the CHIP mod!
