Default Character augments and new heads on eldar bods

This lead post has been edited to provide for the posting of updated character folders.

You can download the mesh folders as they are updated or ... those which are requested specifically.
Moreover the material will be left up for defined period of time.

Sorry, if I lean more toward the purist Tolkien versions of middle earth presentation. And although I redid various figures either partly or wholly, Ellessar789 provided the truly critical eye and endless feedback that greatly helped shape things.

Aragorn will be posted in a separate folder at this same location.

Looking great! I'd say the face is a lot more fitting with the Bilwit/Soul_Reapir/Louis Lux model than is it with the Taro model. You certainly could have taken some more aesthetically pleasing renders of the models though.

Edit: Just curious. Did you put the Aragorn head on the Bilwit/Soul_Reapir model or the more current Louis Lux model?

Edited to allow import of fellowship stuff)

For THE REST OF THE FELLOWSHIP, most textures with the exception of the heads, the legs of the hobbits and much of the hobbits clothing, is Bilwit's excellent work.

As to the models, much was added as well, new tunic's, more robust arms and chests, changes here and there with added equipment or texture pieces. All taken, its a good mix, but ... they are still works in progress. Almost all except each of the variants of Sam has been imported into the game domain at one time or another for testing. Yet they still need much testing, as I don't use the game.

Again ... as with the Aragorn models, these meshes are WIP'S and as such have not been extensively tested. The zip file comes with each specific character variant, inside of which are the game mesh file and the newer texture file.

PS: One important alibi. I have used no normals, much of the detail has been upgraded, however, there are likely saturation issues or lack of facial shadowing which will need adjusting.

GANDALF AND SAM PICS. Additionally, the link for Rivendell character models/meshes is below this post. Rivendell pictures though , are in the second post after this one. (Why it's working out like that, don't ask)

Just wanted to thank Yarrum for including me in those credits. Just don't see that very often and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, haha. +rep and thanks again.

Yes, I've already done a bunch of others. As to Louis Lux model, I'm not certain what it looks like.

But since I posted this, I then realized Louis was part of the Bilwit/Soul Reapir team

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. You planning to send over the models?

Edit: Erm...which knife hilt are you talking about...?

RIVENDELL CHARACTERS employ Bilwit's excellent base textures for body maps of the twins, and Glorfindel. However, Glorfindel's "house of Elrond" ranging togs is a washed out version of Bilwit's with blue tints. Elrond was built from the boots up. Arwen body textures are similar to Glorfindel. Beorn's geometry is mine and uses a mix of my textures and lithuanian body textures.

Galadriel though ... is another matter. Her textures in the first model are placeholders.

This knife? Also, are you working off of Bilwit's Aragorn or Louis'? There's a bit of a difference between the two.

Nah, I'll PM you the link first to test connectivity and function then I'll post it. Make sense?

AS to the knife it looks like that. I assume its Bilwit's

I liked the new textures. The models face does look a lot like Viggo Mortensen. Very realistic textures. Are you planning to work on any other heroes?

No, Louis Lux and I did a further enhanced version of Bilwit and Soul Reapir's model.

I don't think that Louis Lux made any changes to the body model. The main additions were the bow, quiver and knife (not shown in this render) and the rework of his face, which is irrelevant at this point. Since you seem to be working off the Bilwit/Soul Reapir model, I'll assume you have some other, inferior knife to mine. Here's the link to Louis' Heroes mod.

On a side note, Soul Reapir, do you have any desire to return to modding for TATW? Louis and I could really use your help.

Edit: By the way, I actually made my own Aragorn head a while back but never learned to how to model hair so I was never able to implement it.

Yarrum I could give it a shot but I won't be able to do a whole lot. School has been controlling my life so the weekends are the only time really I'll have to do anything. Not to mention I'll be a bit rusty at first considering its been a long while since I've modded anything.

    Yarrum,

Your face attempt was very good. Viggo has many oddities in his facial structure. As to the hair. That's a challenge. Because you want to create geometry which will enable ease of applying a hair texture. So I made the hair map like the three slices of an orange, like a Mercator map projection of the globe.

Then I straightened out the UV map making rectangular each slice so the UV mesh would follow the hair lines of the texture. I do the same for beards. Sounds complicated, but it isn't.

The bangs and any lower strands, however, take some work. Therefore I made a separate forehead/bang mesh. Thereafter you simply extrude hair strands that you need, edge by edge.

Well, if you feel up to doing anything, contact Louis Lux. I'm sure he'll have plenty of jobs for you to do.

Thanks. I cheated though; I used a program called FaceGen so I just plugged in two photos and it modeled the face for me.

Anyways, can you send over the Aragorn mesh so I can merge it with the parts from Louis' model?

I passed the links PM for the initial two.

Also I attached a group shot, an up angle shot, the characters posed roughly in MS3D and then a still taken in Silo 2 with a sky backdrop. Characters are of course, scaled outside current parameters of game domain.

Still uncertain how to embed pics within body of message/text.

Oh, you mean put pictures in the post! After you attach the image, right click on the picture and select "copy link location". Then, click on the "insert image" button and past the link. Also, the PM you sent me doesn't have any links.

Additionally, I'd suggest you make your changes to Louis' versions of the heroes, not the ones that are in 2.1. Louis' heroes submod is almost certainly being implemented into 3.0 and either way, his are better than the vanilla ones.

I can tweak those as well. It provides variety. I am testing how to embed pics in this post
