I`m a big fan of Empire (believe it or not, DMUC that is) and so I thought what the hell I`ll buy myself a copy of Napoleon as I`m interested in the period anyway.
Looks good on the campaign map, then down the battle itself, beautiful, but what`s slightly disconcerting is the speed at which everything moves.
What I mean is everything is going at benny hill speed, it reminds me of Rome and how the horse moved just a little to quickly for it to have anything other than a unrealistic feel about it.
But it`s not just the horses, it the whole banana. Having 20000 troops on the field in Empire, would take over an hour of carnage in real time to complete, and with the pace being what it is the ebb and flow of the battle gave the kind of experience we as strategy gamers lust after.
So I got the multiplier and ramped it up to 3 in Nap, full graphics in an attempt to labour my system and slow things down a bit, but nope still Benny Hill. Even in dramatic (or virtual) time a battle seems to last no longer than 5 to 10 minutes as everyone is running around mad as norries x2.
In DMUC Darth was able adjust the speed of the cavalry etc.. is there any mod that does this in Napoleon.
First impression is, I like it but this is definitely marring the experience.
Any help would be appreciated.
