    Icon4 Updating pics in settlement list

    Hi all.

    I noted that settlement list (rosters) uses obsolete pics from vanilla game.

    Would be much better to update current pics to pics of 3D models from stratmap.

    I'm not sure that I can do it by myself, so I would be grateful for help (answers on questions or perform task).

    How I can render 3D models?
    Where is placed original pics of settlements?

    You can do that with blender or 3dsmax you will need some .cas converters for it though to open them in those programs.

    As for pics etc they are in:-
    data\ui\southern_european\buildings
    data\ui\middle_eastern\buildings

    etc.

    Thank you very much.

    I rendered some 3D models, but not all.
    There is some textures absent, error appears during import.

    I used textures from SS\data\models_strat\residences\textures and also add absent textures from original packs (\M2TW\packs).

    May be models uses textures, which located in other places? How I can see, which textures necessary for CAS object?

    Paths like "data\ui\southern_european\buildings" contain only pics of new mod's building.
    I received right pics for replacement from packs also. It was at "data\ui\southern_european\cities\"

    There is a sample. Angle of view would be changed.

    The thing is if a file\pic is not in the mod folder then it's vanilla pic is being used by the game from the pack files.
    You won't find the pics in \M2TW\packs folder it's inside the .pack files(compressed). you have to unpack the game for it. Or you can only specific unpack it. There is a tutorial for that in my signature check it out or if you wanna unpack the whole game read this tutorial.

    Edit:-
    About which texture that .cas file uses it's simple open the .cas file with notepad(it will open up as some gibberish text). Then scroll at the bottom of the file and you will see the file name that it uses.

    Thank you, I know about unpacker.
    I already unpacked necessary files (for example, original pics of cities)

    Please, Anybody help me to understand this situation:

    For example,
    model middle_eastern_huge_city.cas uses textures:
    middle_eastern_castle.tga.dds
    middle_eastern_cities.tga.dds

    But in folder with textures is only middle_eastern_castle.tga.dds and middle_eastern_cities.tga.
    File middle_eastern_cities.tga.dds also absent in packs (that is logical because it from SS).

    Does game engine uses directly tga files instead of dds?

    I converted middle_eastern_cities.tga to middle_eastern_cities.tga.dds by DXTbmp (DXT1), but during import CAS error appears again (Runtime error: buildTVFaces: mesh has no texture vertices ...).

    May be any problem with tools? Don't say me about my hands

    AFAIK .dds files were used in vanilla but kingdoms can utilize .tga files directly in strat models, logos etc in my mod every file is .tga type.
