unpacking..

So i finally found how to unpack the game files and everything but now i cant find the 2 things i need to delete so game wont crash at battles =/ where are they? When i click on some things it says the files cant be opened? is what i need in these? why cant i/how can i open them?

They are in the data folder. If Vista or Win 7, look in the %appdata% folder after unhiding all files and folders in Folder Options.

ok found folder options and belive i unhid everything but i dont see any appdata one and when i try to open some files it still says it cant open them

Did you unhide all files and folders in Folder Options? If you did not, you will not find much.

yes my account is administrator and i believe i unhid all files. and id love to know how to do all this without the problems im having!!

Okay, here it goes. If it gets redundant, sorry.

1. Be sure you are logged in as Administrator.
2. Be sure the UAC id as disabled as possible.
3. Uninstall the game starting with the Kingdoms campaigns.
4. Delete both Sega folders in Program Files and users\usernamame\appdata\roaming. If you don't, you're not reinstalling.
5. Run a good registry cleaner. I use Eusing Free Registry Cleaner but many use Ccleaner.
6. Reboot.
7. Install Medieval2, then Kingdoms, then the Kingdoms patch.
8. See if you can start a campaign.
9. If you can start a campaign, time to unpack.

ok thank you im trying this all now. i uninstalled it all and found the Eusing registry cleaner online and downloaded it. thats all done now and im going to restart my computer and reinstall the games and patch and see what happens..

I had mine disabled before installing Zone alarm. If it did not like it, I'm switching companies.

The first anti-virus I had was Central Point software.

i have the UAC is off warning too right now and im almost done installing the game again. so do i just download the patch once thats done and it works or do i have to do anything with the patch after i dl it?

Download a fresh patch, install it, and seeif you can start a campaign.

ok downloaded the patch but im not getting an install thing but i think it worked as i think it said patch makes forts in crusades be stone so i launched crusades and forts came out as stone buildings so im gonna assume patch is good?

I would say the patch is good.

Time to unpack. When done, the DOS window showing the count should be over 36,000 when done. Good luck.
