    Default RTW will not start

i recently purchased an alienware m15x laptop which supposedly is the best one you can get so i decided to install my old version of RTW and it installs fine, like it did on my old computer, however this is when the problems start, firstly the icon that is meant to have the RTW symbol is weird so when you double click on it it pops up with an internet window saying the minimum requirements which i presumed i have but i havnt checked and dont know how to check, when i go through the launch i click on play rome total war and it loads for about a second then nothing happens and it just stays on the desktop. Any help on how to sort this out would be much appreciated as i really fancy playing on it, thanks

    1. Be logged in as Administrator assuming Win 7.
    2. Set your security permissions manually assuming Win 7.
    3. Install directx9.0c even if it says directx 11.

    Good luck.

If you are the only one using your computer odds are you are. Many are using their parents' computers is why the qualifying statement.

The directx may or may noy have benn installed depending on your security settings. You decide it's in your best interest to disable the UAC, also.
