Matches ending in 'Draw'...

To anyone good enough to read this...this isn't a rage post, promise.
Don't get me wrong this game has wound me up in the past, after all there's nothing nicer than than spending 40 mins carefully taking your enemy apart then as you deliver the coupe de grace getting thrown out by my friends at Steam and losing 1000pts to add the icing on the cake.
The game is still massively addictive and life's too short to fuss.
However something new has started happening and instead of good old fashioned rage quitting I am now getting a message saying 'Draw' even though my enemy is getting battered. At least this way the points lost are only 250 odd but it seems to take the piss even more than throwing me out altogether.
Is this a new thing that Steam have added and I've just been too dense to notice?
If anyone know I would appreciate it.

PS I know the easy answer is not to play ranked games by I must have lost 10000 points and two stars in the space of week recently because of the game kicking me out and the only reason I'm playing ranked games is to get them back so any allies know I can play the game

lol, I have lost 20,000 points and 3 stars in less then a day. And that is without losing a battle........

I don't think i've ever seen a draw.

What happens to make that occur?

Ah so it's not just me then? Lol, I thought I must have upset one of the Steam founders in a previous life or something.
To be honest after writing that post I wondered if it was because of a timer, feel a bit sheepish now but thanks for letting me know!

basically dude its a method star junkies use to maintain the stars which they like to show off so much. They use a lot of light infantry and set a 20 min timer so if things start going bad they just keep running away till time out and its a draw. They lose no points. These people obviously care a lot about what people think of them if they are going to such lengths to appear a pro, which is why it sort of baffles me that they dont seem to mind behaving like a total gay in front of anyone who beats them. As a rule a lot of players with 8 or 9 stars really arn't very good and have just spent hours and hours playing the same scenario which they know will catch people out. In my experience the best players usually have 6 or 7.

Got to agree with you entirely, I find it hard to fathom some of the people on TW, I'll keep a unit of cav in reserve to chase em down before the game ends in future.
Like I said before the only thing that bothers me is keeping my meagre 4 stars so that I'm not seen as noob material, can be hard to get allies otherwise.

happened to me a few times too. the host setting a 20 min time limit on Spanish Lakeside for instance. the game is over before it's even started and i lose 250 points. i used to be on 36k and now im on 28k a lot of it has been things like that. it's easy to go on a bad run and lose a lot of points in a short time.

There are so many exploits to gain stars in this game that i dont make any difference between a 5 or a 8 star-player anymore.

Accordingly, I dont bother too much about my own rating either...

yes valkerie used to be a master at 20 minute time limit send one unit to each corner strategy in the early days of ETW. AG has always been pro but the have also always had a tendency to rank whore

ive never hosted a ranked game in NTW and never will - my little 5 stars were just from playing drop in battles and mistakes ive made joining ranked games. CA should do away with the star system altogether and just show how many games people have played and the number of wins / losses and dropped games

just join games and say your learning but you will play a good fair game and if they still kick you play with others

There are some devious people playing this game but ever since the first shogun i've yet to find another game that gives as good tactical battles as TW, certainly good enough to keep me hooked for the last 7/8 (?) years regardless of online problems.
Terminator cheers, that's a noble cause but i'm not worried about getting extra points, as long as i don't lose em and end up lookin like a complete noob then i'm happy. To be fair though i find its steam's connectivity issues that causes the most problems.
I guess i should just join a clan, would solve the problem i guess and stop my whinging!.
