    So,I'm thinking about this mod from some time,from something like 5 days,and I think it is something really,really,really cool,not so hard to do,and,most than all,that could result FUN.I'll make the spelling:
    F is for FRIENDS you do stuff together
    U is for YOU AND ME
    N is for aNYWHERE,and aNYTIME at all,DOWN HERE IN THE DEEP BLUE SEA



    Idea is the following,Persians take over Greece,many Greeks escape to Magna Graecia.Once in Magna Graecia,the Italiote Greek culture becomes even more powerful,and strongly influences the Latin and Oscan cultures.Italiote Greeks eventually form a unitary state(spirit of survival,when you have an eastern empire on your opposite coasts you'll do everything to try to resist it,at least)and subjugate the Oscan-speaking population.Persians,anyway,manage to land in Apulia and then,slowly,start subjucating the Italiotes and the Oscans.The Latins start to feel the pressure from the Eastern guys on the south of the boot,and make a plan with the Greeks and the Oscans:they will escape,as far away as possible,beyond the Columns of Hercules,and estabilish a new homeland for these three people.Carthaginians too know well that they hardly can resist,and join the Latin,Oscan and Greek exodus plan.Eventually,the roads of these four people separate in the gulf of Guinea.The Carthaginians decide to settle there,but the Greek and Italian populations continue till the Americas.Once in the Americas,the Latins settle in today's Colombia,the Oscans settle in Mexico/Central America,and the Greeks settle in the Caribbean islands.And here we enter in the game.Our main objective is to settle the Greek,Latin and Oscan people in the Americas,estabilish contact with the Meso-American populations,make an empire and,eventually,re-estabilish contact with the old world and the Carthaginian colonists in Guinea.Alternatively,we can do the same with the Punics,or simply take up the weapons as the native African or American natives against the Semitic or Mediterranean invaders.Basically,i'm talking about "Ancient peoples estabilishing colonies in the Atlantic:Total War".To give a better idea of what I'm talking about,here's a map



    We basically have a map spanning both coasts of the Atlantic,and comprising the Caribbean and the Western Mediterranean Sea.


    Civilizations could be like this:

    -Greek Italiotes(Greek culture)(replacing Greeks)
    -Oscans(Roman culture)(replacing Brutii Romans)
    -Romans(Roman culture)(replacing Julii Romans)
    -Carthaginians(Carthaginian culture)(replacing Carthaginians)
    -Olmecs(could use Egyptian culture as a base,and modify it into a MesoAmerican culture)(replacing Egyptians)
    -Mayas(like up)(have to decide)
    -Caribs(Nomad,probably)(have to decide)
    -Iroquois(probably barbarian)(like up)
    -Apache(probably nomad)(like up)
    -Ghana(barbarian)(probably replacing the Germans,not sure.)
    -Mauritania or Numidia(if Numidia,presumably they took over the old city of Carthage)
    -some west African people i have to decide
    -Persians(we'll not see all of their territory,they will probably have their capital in Taras or Rhegion,we'll see more like sort of a Satrapy of Italy and Lybia).

    I myself am a decent strat modder,and I can also modify the texts.If someone is interested,I could use:

    -2d artists:to create faction symbols,and flags and the maps you see when you choose the civilization
    -a modeler:Greco-Latins could use Greek,Roman and Samnite mercenaries as standard units.Punics could use their units.So 2/5 of the work is already done,but needed are also the Meso American and Native American units.For what concerns the Meso American units,retextures of some Egyptian units could be sufficient
    -a scripter:yup,a scripter
    -a researcher,especially for West African peoples and Mesoamerican ones


    So,what about it?We can use Extended Cultures as a basis.I really like its religious system,the political system(local governments,occupations,tributary allies...)and the colony system,so it would be cool to use XC as a base.




    Team as of now

    Me:text modder,mainly modifying the strat file(once a map is ready),renaming stuff,etc.I'll be coder and I'll modify the text.
    urbanengine:Faction symbols,to make the entire UI would be even better,also mapper.


    UPDATE:I did a poll,to see,in your opinions,what faction should the Mayas replace.

    But I would change the faction list:
    Europeans:
    Greeks
    Romans
    Celts
    Africans:
    Numidia
    Carthage
    Ghana Empire
    Native Americans:
    Toltecs
    Mayans
    Caribs
    Iroquois
    Apache

    Yes,me too thought of separating the Greeks from the Latins.For what concerns the Celts,I think that it would be better,then,for reasons of balancing,to keep them in France.Same thing goes to the Native Americans,the Meso Americans,the Numidians,and the Ghanese.About skinning and researching,I'm happy,but weren't you involved in that Magna Graecia project?I'm happy,anyway,that someone is interested

    I'm working on Magna Graecia, Ancient World Total War and now on this mod. I'll start working on a mesoamerican skin (with egyptian model).

    Uhm? why do you want to separate the greeks from the romans? didn't you said that they merged into one culture when the continental greeks reacehd the latium?

    Man,the project started some hour ago.Here it is all provisional,even the story is provisional(and it is better if I'll adapt this).

    That's cool.You're busy,I see.Me too would get to work,if I would find a mapper.Once done the map,I could start giving the regions the ownership and all.

    Yes,I know the map plan is pretty big,but if we use all the available 199 slots for the map,and if mapper will sapiently use the space,we can fit it all.
    A good idea would be to make as little regions as possible on the coast,and as big as possible once we go in the mainland.Jeez,Machiavello Mercator managed to fit the entire world in 199 regions...

    well, actually you can't have too much sea on RTW based engines, you could try that nicely on M2TW though
