Default Unspecified error when adding placeholder faction

I've added a new "placeholder" faction to SS to keep "destructible" forts from disappearing, but the game CTDs in the middle of the initial loading. Here's the log:

I think that it might be b/c of the faction; it doesn't ahve any settlments or characters aside from the spies used to keep the fort open.

I believe SS is already using all faction slots, you'd need to remove/replace a faction to get the placeholder faction.

judging by what files are checked immediately after the last ones in the system.log in O/P,
it might be a problem with descr_campaign_ai_db.xml
as that follows very soon after.

SS6.4 does have at least one faction slot free.

Actually, SS 6.4 has two free slots. As for Descr__campaign_ai_db, I didn't change it, but the "placeholder faction" might need to be labeled as "slave" as the Aztecs in Vanilla were labeled as such.

SS has a slave faction anyway

I know, but the vanilla M2 Descr_Strat labels both the rebels and the aztecs as slave. Perhaps, if I labeled the faction as dead_until_resurrected?

I found one of the errors. I hadn't changed the faction label from Aztecs but even when I changed it again, it still CTD when loading...

I know, but the vanilla M2 Descr_Strat labels both the rebels and the aztecs as slave.
They are both labeled as unplayable, but certainly not 'slave'

To get more out of your log, change the error reporting to trace in your cfg file:

    [log]
    level = * trace

Afterward you will need to compress the log before attaching.

    Filefront is giving me problems.

The game appears to have problems with finding pictures for this building: hinterland_river_access
That would not cause a crash, but it could be an indication, that this building or the one after this (in the EDB) might be missing entries in data\text\export_buildings - that would certainly be a crash reason.

I didn't mod any of the buildings in SS 6.4. Aside from the placeholder faction and a cut and paste installation of LLP I have vanilla SS. Come to think of it, the latter might be the reason for the crash.

That doesn't mean that there aren't missing entries in text/export_buildings.txt. For example if SS uses faction specific descriptions for a building but has no cultural descriptions then any new faction added to that building list (via a cultural requirement) would be missing a description and hence crash the game.

I checked descr_buildings, and there's no faction specific text. I also found out it is SS 6.3, not 6.4. Not sure what effect that would have, but I figured that any info is better than no info.
