need help

ive purchassed medival 2 from steam a few weeks ago, it works fine and all, but when i tried to get and play this mod it just wouldent let me, could someone help me to fix this plz? any advice would be really usefull, Thx.

i do have the kingdom exspantion and i belive steam automaticaly updates the patches, though im not sure where to save the mod to...

Yes, you can find Kingdoms expansion on EBAY or something for 5-10 bucks now.

A folder called /mods in your Medieval 2 directory should appear if you installed Kingdoms correctly.

I think you are in for a host of issues before you can get the game running right.

1. Read the English translation thread on the main page. The latest posts will tell you about problems install related to steam. You need to understand to know if you are running into this. I am not sure about install 1.4 COW with steam, since I don't have the steam version.

2. There is a full 1.4.2 with English patch (not sure if it includes 1.4) just out now. If it includes 1.4 also, you should try to install this. It would save you from having to do everything below. There is the link. It is at the very top. http://empiretw.ru/board/index.php?s...2&#entry527802

3. If above doesn't cut it for you or you have already downloaded 1.4 and/or 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 then here is the second process.
4. Make sure you install MEII and Kingdoms in their default directories. If you did, you can install COW 1.4. just by pressing ok and doing nothing else. It will go to the right place (MEII/mods/Call_of_Warhammer)
5. Unzip 1.4.1 into a dummy directory. Within the patch directory, you will see /data. Copy this into C:/Program files (x86)/Sega/Medieval II/mod/Call_of_Warhammer) - it will look something very close to this. It will overwrite /data directory and files. Say "yes" to copy and replace.
6. Do same as above for 1.4.2
7. At this point, I would backup the whole Call_of_Warhammer directory.
8. Install English translation for 1.4.2 using same process as 5.
9. Go into Call_of_Warhammer directory. There will be a Warhammer.bat file. Double-click on this to start the game.

ok ive managed to get the actual mod working but i cant seem to get the english translation working any ideas on how i solve that

You don't provide much in the way of information, so not sure what the exact problem is. Based on what you did write, it appears again to be installation related. Make sure you are install/copying the translation files over into the right directory. Also, the translation has to be applied after all patches. If you have steam installed, that too can cause problems with the translation. You will need to read about that in the appropriate thread and apply suggested solutions.
