Strategy Guide for SP Campaign - Britain

Hey guys, this is going to be my first guide of a campaign so any way to improve will be helpful.
This post will try to help new / inexperienced campaign players develop good ideas and tactics.

So, you have just started a campaign with Britain, and you have a good fleet and an ok army to begin with. In most of your cities you start with a militia, to keep the local populace under control, but down near London you are given an army with good foot infantry troops in and a few cavalry.

What i suggest is to send a foot to anywhere which has a militia in it, replacing the militia and i would suggest disbanding the militia as this will save you money on their upkeep.

Spend what money you have on increasing your trade ports and farms. Make peace and alliances with as many nations as you can in the first turns.

Keep spending your money on things which will increase your income. So for example you might decide to send and Indiamen, trade ship, to the trade routes north-west of Great Britain.

Hopefully now your income will be very high by now build a drill square, which gives every foot 1exp, and you will be able to recruit some good troops, and you can begin to put together a good army for your attack on the north of france, putting the army under the command of Wellesley(Wellington).

When you begin to invade, you should find the ai easy to beat as the ai is stupid. I would recommend that if you are low on money then occupy Rennes but if you are not, then allow the people to rule themselves and be their protectorates.





Pull your army out of Northern France, do not attack Paris, it is not worth all the trouble it takes capturing it. I would recommend, marching your army to your navy, and send the navy to Gibraltar as it will be eaiser as you already have the foothold. The Spanish will try to invade you with a fairly big army, but as soon as you start the campaign recuit foot units and cavalry. As soon as you take or liberate Rennes send your army, via he navy, to Gibraltar and you will be able to repel the Spanish attak or retake Gibraltar.








Take over many regions, liberating and conquering as you wish. It is easier to liberate, otherwise you will have to leave troops behind to defend it and keep it under control. Capture the regions you have been told you must capture for victory. As you go along, keep recruiting new troops to help you conquer and hold new cities you capture. Try to stay allies with Russia, Prussia and Austria. Or they will attack you a lot and you will find it harder to go on the offensive.
