    Icon5 Green selection markers not present

    Operating system: Win Vista 64bit Ultimate
    Kingdoms Patched to 1.5
    Stainless Steel 6.4
    No submods

    Hi

    This is a fairly annoying glitch that I am experiencing at the moment.
    Whenever I click a unit during a battle they don't highlight (the green selection markers dont appear). And whenever I click the button that flashes your army, the enemy's army, and any allied troops' colors nothing happens.

    Any help would be much appreciated

    They have been disabled in the mod...

    if you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War and open the medieval2.preference.cfg and change the line:

    disable_arrow_markers = 1

    to

    disable_arrow_markers = 0

    they should be back... though I ain't sure this config file effects SS... but test it...

    EDIT: on a related note... if you want the unit banners showing again (the bobbing flags when units are selected) in the same file change:

    show_banners = 0

    to

    show_banners = 1

    Oh my, I wasn't aware that they were disabled! I would think that makes it harder...

    Anyways, thanks so much for your help; I have those markers back

    Also thanks for showing me how to re-enable those floating flags, however since my soldiers have standard bearers I won't be needing them.

    no problems mate... most players (IMO) seem to think that the arrow markers take away the "feeling" in the game... that it becomes more of a "cartoonish" feeling than that of gritty medieval warfare... also, the only reason to have bobbing flags is that you can see in a distance exactly which units that are routing, fighting to death and waver...

    good luck total waring now...
