    I always offer map info with every diplomatic offer I make and the A.I. seems to want it for some reason. Maybe you should decrease the "Importance" of map information? If that's at all possible.

    I'm about 40 or 50 turns into a Late Era English campaign, and one thing that surprises me is
    that I've had a few alliances with excellent relations for quite a while; no backstabs. Is that normal while using this sub-mod?

    That's kind of the point.

    It says something about Medieval II's A.I. when not being betrayed makes you think something's amiss.

    Yes. Backstabs are still a work in progress to find the sweet spot but they only happen if your relations drop not if there perfect.

    @storm Factions can and will invade by sea. By default Scotland can invade by sea as well. Norway invades by sea too.

    Ah I see, I was hoping it would get rid of the whole denmark attacking palagna thing but oh well, I'll have a go anyway.

    AI now needs poor relations to invade if not neighbour. No more random wars
    Just a question about this, I'm trying out your AI but does this mean if I was france and pushed england back to britain would they not invade my french lands? Does water count as a border? Or have you set it so that the AI is only allowed up to a certain distance before being restricted from attacking? For example will norway ever invade britain and will scotland ever invade anywhere else if there's no rebels left?

    So if there is no backstabbing then could a human player just concentrate on building up unmolested and then wipe his neighbours out. E.g if you are Kwarezmian and get a deal with the mongols are you then totally secure on that front, indefinitely?

    What sort of things are lowering relations and thus causing war if there is no backstabbing? What is there to stop the player from backstabbing?

    Mongols don't want peace or any kind of deal. Relations drop after time when allied unless you offer money, map info ect. Obviously nothing stops the player from backstabbing I can't control them via the campaign_ai_db file And if people think there will be backstabbing left and right, there wont be. If you want that use Graculs AI.

    That should work rather well then. What about a universal drop in relations if a human backstabs, making it a 2 way street? Otherswise the ai will always be vulnerable for trusting the player.

    played 90+ turns with France and I can say: this is fantastic! I never played such a fun game before.
    also I started campaign with Norway now (old good vikings ) and something is happening what never happened before to me. I'm in war with Denmark and I'm allied with HRE and almost every time when I attack/defeat/conquer something from Denmark , my relations with HRE goes up
