Default My graphics card with TATW

Medieval 2 runs fine. But on TATW I have lag. That would be due to the high troop numbers. I think my graphics car doesn't cut it . So can you guys see how good it is (picture)? And recommend me a good one? Also, would it be hard to replace my current card?

Sorry it's in dutch. I'm from Belgium

    This card is a dinosaur!
...Anyway how hard it is to replace the card depends on your case, but graphiccards are normally the easiest things to change.
P.S. if you want to buy a new one you could post a price range so we know what we can suggest

The guy I bought my pc from had it upgraded to 4gb ram, but he didn't realised that it was his graphics card that needed an upgrade . Anyways, for pricerange I have no idea, could you suggest something this is more or less cheap but up to the task. And the one that baz suggested is around 400 dollars, but that far to much. And Hero of the West it works fine with M2TW, but TATW has bigger troop numbers, and my graphics card can't handle that.

couldn't you just change the troop number to "very few" in the menu?

I assume you play on "huge" try playing on large or normal. Large is in my opinion the best troop size.

Couldn't agree more. "Huge" just gets annoying playing as Gondor going against Mordor. Screw that.

Or look for a new blood mod, as the blood overlays used in TATW are massive compared to the vanilla ones. They have a huge impact on performance. Plus... you really do need to upgrade that card.

Low troop numbers works well, but it seems to revert back to huge everytime I start TATW. Strange.
Yeah I really need a new graphics card. Some affordable recommandations?

The first step is to define "affordable".

Well as I said the one baz suggested is 400 dollars and that's too much. Maybe around 100 or so, but that's not enough I think

    About the new graphics card:
See http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...phics-Cards,4/ for more information and then esp. the article 'Best Graphics Card For The Money: ...'
They give good recommendations. And the 'Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart' at the end of the article is very useful to compare all the different cards out there.
Also when you are buying a new card, make sure it fits your motherboard and case (both shape and connector).

I Run TATW almost perfectly with a GTX 465, paid 250 euros this september. I don't think that a GTX 480 is necessary. It will cost you a lot!
